first time offense now a FELONY in Texas

Sooo... felony for the buyer but misdemeanor for the seller? Hmm:

"The words "equal justice under law" paraphrase an earlier expression coined in 1891 by the Supreme Court.[7][8] In the case of Caldwell v. Texas, Chief Justice Melville Fuller wrote on behalf of a unanimous Court as follows, regarding the Fourteenth Amendment: "the powers of the States in dealing with crime within their borders are not limited, but no State can deprive particular persons or classes of persons of equal and impartial justice under the law."[9] The last seven words are summarized by the inscription on the U.S. Supreme Court building." -wikipedia Originally Posted by amexblack

Except.. they don't care about those poor "victims" either... they're happy to slap a misdemeanor charge on a record that still makes a person hard to hire.

New codes will have to be created for Texas hobbying. Example: A "mechanic" who happens to be female provides regular "maintenance" at her "garage". Get your belts and hoses checked.

This is fishing with acid.

From SuzyRoughneck's latest encounter report:

Then I flipped her over and proceeded to take a core sample. She was very enthusiastic about this-- yelling that I should DRILL BABY DRILL.

We'll need a signed lease that provides a detailed description of the obligations and expectations of both the lessee and lessor, and what exploration and drilling activities are permitted (is the site limited to only one well bore?), as well as states the amount and timing of any signing, bonus and royalty payments. Is a blow-out prevention device necessary? Is open hole completion possible?

Can the gusher contents go directly to the refinery? (CIM)

First time offenders can avoid jail time if they take a training course.

There is always the possibility of a reduction in charges for a plea deal ? How good is your lawyer ? I do like to hope they hit someone with deep enough pockets to fight it.
