SS is a supplement to your retirement and not your total retirement. Nothing in the law has a means test and to modify it now and disallow those that have paid all of their lives into it is a violation of the trust we "should" have in our government. Of course the law has been modified many times over the years so another modification without the consent of the governed is just another form of legal theft by the government.

Jesus, if our average life expediency suddenly dropped to 60 , it should be adjusted accordingly.

That is how private investor would do.

Black do not live as long as whites, should they put less in? ....Get more out?

There are all kinda shit that isn't fair about SS.

So, elect those that will make the changes for future generations or is what we have something that requires the constant addition of new "investors" to pay those that have already "invested" back.
Sounds like a government run Ponzi scheme where the promises are all lies, at least for those that are the last in.

Sop, blacks do not live as long on average......I wonder why that is.......could we use Chicago as an example.

I guess what you are trying to say is that a social program such as what we have was a really bad idea and maybe time has come to make it go away. Maybe we should do that with a lot of the entitlement programs such as the ACA.

The really bad thing is that Reagan in the eighties fixed SS and cut taxes, he then proceeded to take out the surplus SS ... so this generation of retirees let Reagan spend their SS surplus!

If you want to talk about where the money has really went...that is a conversation I'd relish.

Really, so our money is not really in T-bills as the government claims?
Why does SS hold the largest amount of the US debt of all that hold our debt?
So, you do not think the US government will make good on the debt that SS holds?

Sounds like our government has a bad spending problem.
somebody I hold in high esteem. He grew the government rather than shrink it.
He escalated the so called war on drugs which has only added to our debt and warehoused mostly black youths in prisons for what really amounts to nothing.

Shame you cannot elect to opt out because it sounds like a really bad deal for those that choose to be successful.

ot paying those that paid into the system will not save SS or remove a smidgen of our debt. The reduction in overall government and the reduction of government spending is the only thing that will do that.

The left whines that things are not fair yet everything they do is designed to make everything less fair for all the citizens of this nation.

How about this deal. you let me have my 401k distributions tax free and i will forego my SS benefits. Of course that would not be fair to ....somebody.
