Thoughts on #SESTA #FOSTA...

18th Amendment (Prohibition) lasted all the way up 21th Amendment wiped the 18th's butt in 1933.

But, as we all know, Members of Congress don't always understand (or believe) history.

I think the main issue is child sex trafficking, something I think we can all agree is a crime. Sex should be a choice, not a child who is being kidnapped or being sold into a sex slave market by a parent or relative. But it is a shame to see those who are adults who chose this profession are no longer able to advertise in states where the profession is legal. I imagine there will be changes here on ECCIE, or perhaps they take the server outside the US. Originally Posted by bosslange

The website also shows that Eros.com is based out of London, that P411 is based out of Scottsdale (even though I kept hearing that they are Canadian??) & that TER is based out of L.A....

Just a thought...

For all you providers making "a lot" of money, you should band together and hire the best legal team you can to fight SESTA and FOSTA on its constitutional basis. It will take some serious cash to hire a great legal team that could tie it up in the courts. But when you consider the alternative, it's a lot better in the long run to crowdfund some of your earnings to ensure the future of your lucrative livelihood than it is to work at McDonald's. It's frightening. Taking steps now to cover my butt...Google Maddy Sin City if you need to find my info.
That’s smart, they should close down the ads and just make it a green dot if we’re available and make the reviews short and sweet. Like how we looked. If we were what they expected and if our date went good. Hence DATE! Eccie needs to clean up the site and maybe we will have a chance to survive Originally Posted by CaseyKK

One could keep the review to a simple yes, no, or okay even -remove the details & menu or what was done... TER reviews appear even more incriminating & shit they won't even seem to let the guys submit reviews without graphic details it seems on that board. I have nice reviews on that board, but even I blush when reading em & I'm the one hosting the party lol!
It hasn't been signed yet so you can't blame the president but go ahead any way lol

I think it’s the same people who believe homosexuality can be cured. Originally Posted by TinMan

The Conservative fringe believe all women in sex work are evil because their "holy book" says so, be it the bible or the qoran. They see this bill as a step towards instituting a theocracy without calling it such.

As to making it completely private, I am not sure that would do anything from a legal perspective. It would certainly do nothing from a privacy perspective--I just point you to the sieves that are the "private" parts of ECCIE today.
FOSTA-SESTA possible might open up a nuclear option for US states looking to make life difficult for review boards to function. Rather than suing ECCIE, Sates like Texas could file a legal injunction to stop developers from providing software to escort advertising sites.

They could effectively threaten to sue VBulletin, Xenforo and Invision Power Boards to stop them from providing software licenses for review boards to run their forums. This could pose a very big problem if they’re able to use FOSTA-SESTA to punish developers for providing apps to escort advertising.

There’s also laws protecting companies & inventors of intellectual property from being sued for misuse of their technology. I’m not sure if that trumps any attempt to sue developers under FOSTA-SESTA. Your guess is as good as mine.
Hi all. Here's some info on Eccie.

The domain name was purchased on godaddy.com, an American domain registrar.

The U.S. Govt could tell Go Daddy to remove the domain. Eccie could just move registration to a foreign registrar if that happens.

The hosting servers the website resides on are in Amsterdam. Because of this, the Govt could just ask Eccie to remove the U.S. portion of the forum. You'd then need VPN to access the site from that point onward. Originally Posted by be-kind_rewind

Best to make a list of ATFs and just stick to them. This is a partial solution for us clients, but not the providers, who cannot get new business. Still, over time both clients and providers will lose their preferred connections. Entropy always increases.

I haven't thought about it long enough to figure out a potential solution, but I have thought about it long enough to know that it is a problem.
