Here is a transcript of a recent segment on John King's CNN program; in it, Obama acknowledges knowing about Fast and Furious before Holder !

CNN's John King plays Holder's testimony to Congress on MAY 3, 2011, where he said he had only just recently heard about the Fast & Furious gunrunning program. "I'm not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks," Attorney General Eric Holder said.

Then CNN compares Holder's testimony to what President Obama said in MARCH to CNN Espanol about the operation. "I heard on the news about this story that -- Fast and Furious, where allegedly guns were being run into Mexico, and ATF knew about it, but didn't apprehend those who had sent it." Transcript of the segment that aired on "John King USA" below:

KING: Well, Congressman Cummings, let's get to one of the questions here. Let's first listen to the attorney general. He came before this committee back in May. Here's what he said.

ISSA: When did you first know about the program officially I believe called Fast and Furious? To the best of your knowledge, what date?

ERIC HOLDER, U.S. ATTORNEY GENERAL: I'm not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.

KING: It begs the question, how did the president know about this in March, and how did the president know the attorney general knew nothing about this in march, when the attorney general says in May he just learned about it a couple weeks ago?

I like when BHO says "I heard about it ON THE NEWS" - how isolated from your underlings are you? You sure you didn't read in on the HuffPo? See it on MSNBC? As for the Topic, you know that sooner or later the anti-gun nuts would have used this episode to promote their agenda, with The President's, and his lap dog Holders blessing. Feinstein added, “but we have very lax laws when it comes to guns and I think, to some extent, this influences BATF as to whether they have political support or not,” Feinstein said. “But, I think these numbers are shocking — and when you know the number of deaths these guns have caused, used by cartels against victims, it’s literally up in the tens of thousands.”

Those are just the ones recovered, Senator [Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)], not the ones that are in Mexico, and of the 94,000 weapons that have been recovered in Mexico, 64,000 of those are traced to the United States. We have to do something to prevent criminals from getting those guns, Senator.

Yes. Hillary postulated a similar lie two years ago and was corrected.

ATF Deputy Assistant Director Bill McMahon provided Congress the correct figures several months ago. Of the 100,000 firearms recovered in Mexico, only 18,000 were traced to the United States. Of those, only 7,900 were traced to licensed U.S. firearms dealers.
