Something like that.
In a world where everything is negotiable....even non-negotiability, the only time it is unreasonable is post-delivery of services or in face-to-face pre-delivery negotiations of the to be performed services. You are supposed to be business people. Stop pretending your honor is being besmirched. It is tedious as well as boring. If you don't want to haggle, hang up. It's quick, it's easy, it's legal. It also makes common sense. "Man up" or pull your ads.
Something else would be nice. To see universal condemnation of your ilk who don't live up to their service claims or that post fake pictures, or especially the NCNS, by your ilk.
NCNS has no defense. Absolutely none. If you can’t make a 1 minute call to let someone know something has happened that will interfere with a business arrangement you have set up, you are the lower than the lowest crack whore. My apology to any crack whores I have demeaned by comparing you to someone who bails on an appointment without notice, reason or apology.

No comments? No indignation? What a joke!
You have plenty to say on perceived slights. I have thrown a gauntlet down!
Are you afraid of what your peers might say? What they might think about you?
A hint: Guess what your "customers" think of you when you do it or condone it?
Who will condemn the NCNS and those who do it? Which of you will be first?
Or have you all done it without feeling the need to explain why? That explains a lot...I guess. Originally Posted by Munchmasterman

I wont bother to post specific to the OP, I could care less what she thinks or what her rate is (or any other gals for that matter). However I will post as a business consultant who has built multiple companies (75+ employee's 10MM rev) and knows this issue from both sides.
Invariably my best customers are most likely to ask for "discounts", the simple truth is that this a positive part of business. It normally represents an early warning that my position is under attack by some faction within the client. 90% of the time I end up with more business not less as a result. The flip side is that I always asked my own vendors for preferred rates. My Attorney was a $600/hr letterhead partner...my "Friend of the firm" rate was $380/hr and normally he waived his fee for his time (normally minimal). I also got 30% off billing for all associates/paralegal. How...my biggest client was also his biggest client and he extended the rate as a professional courtesy. 6 months into my relationship they had an issue that allowed me to offer my services (at a friend of firm rate of course) and picked up a very lucrative account.
Business is business and all good business is subject to a bit of give and take. Originally Posted by TxToast

So i understand asking for a break on the rate, if you have seen the girl. But if it is your first time visiting her and u are asking for a discount, thats not a good way to start things, in my opinion! Jules....haggleing has been part of the game since day one..and it will continue no matter what is said, or how many ladies protest...Just what I was thinking!
With that said just list "donations are non-negotiable" directly on your advertisment (close to your rates) and you'll see a huge drop in hagglers.
If they contact you and haggle you even AFTER they have read that your prices are non-negotiable you can simple say ."no thanks"...and then block there email address, handles or phone number so you never have to speak to them again.
Dont upset yourself over something you have NO control over, it's really not worth it in the long run... Originally Posted by allofamber
