and all through the barn
the creatures started stirring
in hopes of the dawn
The horse weanlings were nestled snug in their stalls
While smells of hay bales tickled their nose
And the cowgirl in her spurs and I in a saddle
Had just mounted up for another morning ride.

It’s quite the thing to watch sunrise over the plains from horseback.
Shame that most folks think the days go downhill from there.
We don’t.
