While I agree that BBFS is very risky behavior, I've come to the conclusion that being so militant about this is rather hypocritical.

By definition, the hobby is risky. All of it. Each of us decides what level of risk we're comfortable with. Who am I to tell you what level of risk is acceptable?

I think daarakan made several cogent points in his post, including the suggestion that we should dial down the bloviating. I have said everything I can to support my perspective, so I am pretty much done. I know I can't change the minds of folks already entrenched in their perspective, any more than they will be able to change my stance. My only goal at this point is to offer my perspective and hope that those that are new to the hobby or still on the fence with this issues might think in my direction in the future.

There is plenty of argument for all sides of this perspective, so I figure it is time to just let folks read and sort out what they agree with or disagree with on their own.

Ultimately this is an information exchange forum for us to discuss ideas. I have stated mine, and I am done arguing with people over theirs.
