Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America

Joe Biden gets it wrong every time on foreign policy, and many other issues. Everyone knew he couldn’t handle the pressure. Even Obama’s Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, said as much. He ran out of Afghanistan instead of following the plan our Administration left for him—a plan that protected our people and our property, and ensured the Taliban would never dream of taking our Embassy or providing a base for new attacks against America. The withdrawal would be guided by facts on the ground.

After I took out ISIS, I established a credible deterrent. That deterrent is now gone. The Taliban no longer has fear or respect for America, or America’s power. What a disgrace it will be when the Taliban raises their flag over America’s Embassy in Kabul. This is complete failure through weakness, incompetence, and total strategic incoherence.

Who is we? The Democrats would scream war crime if we just did what war requires. Killing 1/3 of a nations population will take the piss and vinegar right out of them, but how many people have the stomach for it.

We certainly haven't elected a President to office that has the stomach to do the right thing and be branded a butcher for his remaining days. Few among us can put a man in the ground, let alone millions, and sleep well at night. For those that can or learned to deal, it makes decision making very easy on questions like this.

People can debate just cause and national will (or in this case religious will) until the cows come home. At the end of the day if you aren't willing to kill men, women, and children in numbers high enough to permanently pacify a nation, then you might as well not go to war in the first place. All you will do is kill your own troops and achieve nothing. The entire Country should have been depopulated and the land apportioned out to neighboring nations. Fcuk the UN. Well that's because my priority would be the lives and posterity of American men, women and children, not those of nations that call for our deaths. But I'd also not have us in conflicts all over the globe that are none of our god damn business. So there'd be no Iraq, Afghanistan, no Syria, No Bay of Pigs, No Vietnam, No Korea, no hundreds of other brush fire conflicts that have claimed innocent lives because American business men or politicians stood to benefit.

We went off the rails when we changed the name of the Department of War.

What did that have to do with what the OP reported? You did not say or write one word about that. So, don't come crying about my post. All I did was defend Clyburn. My post was relevant to the OP. I stated we had been there (AG) for 20 years, it's time to come home.

Talk all you want about Biden bumbling the final collapse (and he has), but this goes back several Presidents. Trump made the same stupid miscalculation that Nixon/Kissinger did.. Thinking they could broker a deal with the enemy, who had no intentions of following through. They got DUPED. Kissinger duped the Committee that granted him the Nobel Peace Prize. Fucking shame he has cradled that for 50 years, the South Vietnamese President refused to accept his own awarded Peace Prize.

Fact is, like in Vietnam, Trump and Biden just wanted out. They were tired of dealing with Afghanistan, like Johnson and Nixon were in Vietnam. The respective State Departments totally misunderstood the enemy's resolve. The US thinks short term, other Countries will hold out indefinitely, decades, to obtain their objectives.

Yeah, to my mind ending a conflict quickly and decisively is to me humane. Rather than let it drag on for a generation and not solve anything. We will be back over there within a decade as the place once again becomes a Terrorist training ground and haven.
