What we music be like today if not for the 60's and 70's? Originally Posted by woodywouldpekherI had higher expectations for today's music. I'm going to generalize, I know there are exceptions. Even with some crossover from hip hop and other genres, it was still primarily guitar, bass, drums and keyboard and still had the rebellious sound of rock that I enjoy. Since the 2000's Rock hasn't changed much, and other genres that I don't enjoy have taken over. The rebellious heart pumping excitement is lacking. Electronic beats, and computer sequenced copy and paste has replaced uniquely skilled musicians. Any new rock bands that get any traction are mostly retro to past decades, Greta Van Fleet comes to mind.
