Some observations.. I suppose the market will in fact set the rates over a period with certian modulation from time to time. So be it I suppose, but it is difficult when ladies you enjoy set their price point above your hobby budget after much research and getting to be comfortable with them..
I try to practice responsible hobbying.. ie. not spending money I can't afford. Heck, the reason I still work is to hobby.
I want ladies to do well. I know what you do is difficult ( I have looked in the mirror) I just don't want to be priced out of the pleasure of your company. I want to say that when some of us ask about rates, specials, grandfather rates, etc. it isn't mean spirited or even cheapskate. When ladies raise their rates they will no doubt leave some good respectful clients behind.

Hmmm I just figured the showcase "managers" are increasing their fees and wanting more money to create sophisticated ads, answer pms, phone calls etc. Providers have to offset the cost i guess. It ain't charity ya know.

I think some providers think it's an insult when we ask about specials, grandfathering, discounts, etc. I can see that point of view....like maybe we don't think you're worth a certain dollar amount.
But there is another point of view. I WANT to see you! I've read your ads, I've looked at your showcase, I've read your reviews, I've checked out your posting history, maybe I've talked to you in chat or thru PMs.

Money is real and I have many responsibilities, I have to find a balance between hobby and real world that works for me. I have a rate that I've stuck to now for 15 years (with very very few exceptions) that works for me.

I can list at least 5 providers I'd love to see right now that have rates I'm just not comfortable with. One of my thoughts is what if I have the best session I've ever had? Am I now stuck seeing this great provider at a rate I know I'm not going to continue with long term?

If she elects to see u don't low ball her if your budget is $250 and her hourly rate is $350...Pay her $250 and tip her bcuz she is doing YOU a favor not the other way around.... again....not trynna start shit just trynna get us back focused as to what this HOBBY really is....a business transaction.

Just a friendly suggestion....maybe consider keeping your existing clients at your rate...and adjust the rate for any "new" clients? ...You're business do what you wish....I love ya either way....muah...

Personally, I think providers should charge whatever they want and adjust accordingly until they reach a level of sustainability and achieve work/life balance. This will allow them to identify their optimal rate and possibly maximize their profits. Conversely, I don't think providers should express their discontent in a distasteful way when a hobbyist expresses his desire to be fiscally responsible in his hobby endeavors (bitterness is unattractive on both ends). Thats capitalism for you, there will always be this dichotomy and dynamic within the hobby world.
