...Returned to Café Red Onion after a year's absence. This had always been one of my favorite restaurants in Houston, specializing in Honduran food. From the moment we walked in for Saturday lunch, things were apparently not up to previous standard. There was an unusual odor and a few flies in the restaurant. Okay, I put that aside and continued to order my favorite dish, Chicken Relleno. The food was so disappointing. The previous delicious blend of goat cheese rolled in thin layers of chicken had become a tough, flavorless dish that didn't resemble the former quality. In addition to the relleno not tasting good, it wasn't served hot. The waiter never inquired about satisfaction even after I moved the dish aside with the relleno half uneaten.
