This Is Why WTF Won't Bet Against the Trump Economy

On a serious note, if there is such a thing in this forum....without doing any research, my guess is that household income is increasing because of the lower unemployment numbers. The lower unemployment numbers will probably be a trend as more baby boomers are leaving the workforce than Gen X'ers or whatever the latest age group is called.

That is why it is imperative we have comprehensive immigration reform. Imho. Originally Posted by WTF

Georgia farm labor indictments raise pressure on Biden for farmworker reforms

The blockbuster nature of the abuses uncovered in Georgia, and the level of impunity with which the violators operated for so long, have drawn renewed attention to the flaws in the federal agricultural visa program, even as demand for farmworkers has intensified amid a historically tight labor market. And it is testing President Joe Biden’s commitment to addressing those problems, one slice of an immigration agenda that has idled since his inauguration.

I agree, in part anyway. The corporate tax cuts and deregulation during Trump's term left more money in the private sector. As a result more jobs were created. The labor market tightened. Wages and median household income increased much faster than the CPI. Other factors were at play too.

Some of our Trumpian friends, who believe China poses a huge threat to the USA, should reconsider some of their views about immigration. The Chinese are now abandoning their "one child policy" and encouraging their people to breed. If we are able to remain number 1 in the world, immigration will play a part.

I believe however that the Waco Kid had a good point. We should not be encouraging immigration of Central American gang members. Instead we should bring over engineers, scientists, doctors, nurses, mechanics and the like. And of course more immigrants from socialist autocracies like Cuba and Vietnam, as they tend to vote for Republicans. Finally, immigration of shapely, young Venezuelan, Thai, FSU and Colombian women must have a high priority, preferably with some new sort of temporary "stripper visa", so we can ship them back home when they get old and fat. I could not get into ECCIE on Sat (4/23). I was getting the same error message that I get at OH2. I didn't know if someone hacked into the site or if there was certificate problem. I have some unfinished business in this thread. I'll be back when I get some time. Hopefully, the site will still be working.
