All you have to do is look at many of the countries in Africa...

You call that, an analogy?

Shoot people...in the leg....and, blame them for not...being able to run? Or better yet, cripple them, and call them...lazy BECAUSE they can't run?

I haven't read PAST your post (this one that I'm responding to) at this point. I hope you have a future post denouncing your previous post.

Off topic, but can someone weigh in on who's analogy is better or worse. This joker is talking about shooting people in the leg and shit. I-I-I...just, shit, can't grasp what the fuck he's talking about.

I know, I know. Off topic. But...wow.

I like my analogy better, because people with a lead in the 'rat race'...i.e. more money/wealth, to them, that's normal. When they hear the word 'socialism' being tossed around, they think they're going to have to write checks to poor people until everyone has the same amount of money.

Totally not the case. Real socialism simply means the uber wealthy be just a LITTLE LESS RICH. All the money grubbing schemes that they employ to GET that rich, they have to back off a bit.

I know you've all seen that chart of income inequality chart, where those at the very top don't even register on the chart anymore. And the poor people on the chart are so invisible that, you'd need a special telescope (or microscope, actually) from NASA to see them.

Here's the chart, in case you wanna pretend you've never seen or heard of it, like you live on fucking Neptune or something.

What's REALLY scary is this chart is a few years old.

And some of you jokers defend this shit as if it was ok. It's quite...VILE, actually.

Shit, there are 1%'ers amongst the 1%'ers that puts the 'lesser' 1%'ers to shame. Imagine being a billionaire, but you're TOO POOR to make the Forbes list.

I've said enough for now (I just wanna go to bed), but I'll close by saying this.

For a lot of you that love to defend the hell bound, uber-wealthy...I'd surmise that virtually all of you are closer to the LEFT side of the chart than you are to the right side of it. Originally Posted by Randall Creed

It's best I stay out of this topic. For one, two many right winging, silver spooning, third base rounding, Donald Trump Jr's hog up the board. Being born rich, stupid, and never having to work a day in your life on paper seems to be better than being born poor, reasonably smart, and spending all your life just barely getting by.

Two, emo ass mods apparently have my handle on some kind of alert any time I say something remotely insulting to anyone. I keep forgetting how much of a kid's board this has become, full of pussyfoots who can't stand one second of butt hurt.

If I was born on 3rd base, I wonder how I would feel about people living in ghettos, lack education, poor health...though I'm inclined to believe I'd be the same person I am no matter what.

If I saw somebody choking or being attacked by a bear, according to a right winger, helping them out would be socialism.

The first link deals directly with your fallacy of healthcare and how not so great socialist healthcare is.

The second link is about the Singapore system and how it won't work here and you continue to spew your nonsense about the greatness of government involved healthcare.

Many if not all the posts of yours are all over the map in regards to something you know nothing but continue to copy and paste information about healthcare systems that cost taxpayers much more that it should cost...I understand why you divert...you must be a politician or lawyer...one in the same.
Like i said if other systems are so great and increase longevity
why the hell stay living in a country with second class healthcare. Originally Posted by bb1961

You say your first link, the John Stossel video, deals directly with my fallacy of healthcare. But Stossel is an admirer of the Singapore healthcare system. His guest says nothing about Singapore. He's criticizing systems in Canada, Norway and the United Kingdom where people have no choice in their doctors or hospitals and there's no competition. His suggestions for our system are more competition between hospitals and allowing people to pick their health care plans. These are more like what Singapore has than what we do.

In your second link, a Republican candidate for U.S. Congress and economist, says we should borrow from Singapore, things like price transparency and price competition between doctors and hospitals. He also provides a couple of examples, the state of Indiana and Whole Foods, where they've implemented policies somewhat similar to Singapore's, where you provide people with choice and motivation to save on costs. One eye opener, he says people in the USA on HMO or PPO plans will pick brand name drugs over generics 93% of the time. In Singapore, where it's their money instead of the insurance company's or their employers, they pick generics 87% of the time.

Maybe you should watch your second video. The guy knows what he's talking about. He says what I already did -- the system in Singapore costs 75% less than what we pay and the outcomes are a lot better, he thinks perhaps the best in the world. While you've got a case that I don't know shit about healthcare systems, you can't say that about him.

Then let's come up with a better solution if Obamacare is not working. Before I was eligible for medicare I worked for a company and had fantastic insurance at a low price. The major plus to me for Obamacare is the many millions who could not afford health insurance now have it. Yes, the taxpayers of this country are subsidizing this coverage. I most certainly do not mind part of my taxes going to those who are less fortunate than I am.

When it comes to competition in health care based on price, most people want superior medical care independent of cost for complex medical procedures. If I'm in need of a rather complex operation, I'm going to choose the doctor who has the best qualifications over one who is offering a bargain basement price. Originally Posted by SpeedRacerXXX

I don't mind subsidizing coverage for those who are less fortunate than I am, if the amount is reasonable and government isn't flushing money down the drain doing it. But that's not the way the system works. The Medicare tax and Obamacare investment tax on my earnings are in low six figures. And government is wasting fifty cents of every dollar it spends on health care because it's inefficient.

The problem with your second paragraph is that a good doctor and good hospital often cost less than a poor doctor and a poor hospital, because of the way insurance companies and Medicare work. The Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is a good example -- great facilities, doctors and outcomes that cost less than much poorer quality care elsewhere.
