He's a broken record and mental vegetable.

Critical thinking and problem solving are not his "strong suit." In fact he rarely displays any original thoughts of his own in any constructive, positive post.

I don't think you understand the difference between a claim (advancing the notion that something is true) and an opinion (advancing an idea that something MAY be true). I made no claim. Notice where I said "I think" instead of "we know".

FYI, I'm the brother with college diplomas. The other brother is the truck driver. Originally Posted by JD Barleycorn

Rumor has it that the Turdfly stench is especially potent this time of year.

My unsolicited advice, invest in a good Turdfly Swatter.

Once you hear the splat, your problem should be solved.

If that doesn't take care of the stench surrounding you, ask the nursing home attendant to change your dirty diaper.

I think he is trying to refer to me but I am confused (or he is confused), I have not gotten a government paycheck since I left the navy over 20 years ago. Not all colleges are state institutions and the instructors don't get government checks. I would hazard a guess that more than person here is either recieving or is looking forward to their social security check. I believe that is a government check and according to most research, most people will go through THEIR contribution in the first eight years. Then it is taxpayer money.

Professor JDipshit seem oblivious to just how much the Federal Government subsides his industry. Maybe next he can become a Corn farmer and brag about what a independent business man he is while funneling money into his bank account from taxpayers.....all the while be one of the main Tea Nut jobs in this forum crying about government spending and debt.

So let us recap.
He went to public schools, Government tit.
Navy. Government tit.
College education. Paid for by taxpayers. Government tit.
Working at a University, any University. Government tit.

All that and he is still to fucking stupid to understand the role government has played and continues to play in him being on some form or other of government sponsored programs to earn a living.

http://www.thebubblebubble.com/college-bubble/

As with the housing bubble, government subsidization of higher education has played a very significant role in the formation of the U.S. college bubble. The Higher Education Act of 1965 launched a series of student aid and grant programs that now cost taxpayers over $30 billion a year and, while intending to make education more affordable for students, succeeds in doing the exact opposite as colleges absorb student aid and grant increases by raising their tuition (and their profits) (1, 2, 3). In addition, the excessive ease of obtaining federally-insured mortgage-size student loans, regardless of college major and expected salary, results in higher education institutions charging far higher tuition than would occur in a market-based student-lending system. Colleges attempt to charge their students as much as they can possibly pay through use of student loans. Why should an Art History major be forced to pay the same tuition as a Chemical Engineering major? This is clearly unfair, but what happens when $200,000 federally-insured loans are handed out like candy to students in all majors. Government subsidization of higher education is a lose-lose proposition for both taxpayers and students as it transfers their wealth to already prosperous higher education institutions.

Subsidizing higher ed is not necessarily a lose/lose proposition, but the way we do it today, coupled with the middle ages view of higher ed, is.
