should i allow a refund?

...
However, let me paint this picture. If you were to take your car into a locally owned auto shop for a tune up right after buying the automobile. And, when you return, the chief mechanic advises you that he reduced the price of the tune up because two of your spark plugs looked brand new and did not need changing. And, the oil filter also looked brand new. You would be grateful, and probably trust this man with your car. The motto of the story, is that the mechanic has learned to identify the quality client that he wants to attract, and he went the extra mile to earn your future business. ...Hope the above helps. But I do agree with the premise of your post.

scenario #1. he pays the donation for 2hrs, .........then he asks for for a refund for the time not spent. Originally Posted by Kandy Kelly

scenario #2. he pays the donation for 1hr plus greek......he is ready to go and asks for a refund of the extra money back because we did not do greek. Originally Posted by Kandy Kelly

The other option would be for her to offer the greek fee back.

embarrassed....this guy was cocky as hell about it.

my rates are low and reasonable enough for it to not make any difference in your pockets i dont see the point Originally Posted by Kandy Kelly

You don't have to be a hard-ass or mean to get your point across. But clients will try to get away with whatever you let them. I feel like a website is due. You need a platform to make all of your rules known.

Again, I will PM you when I get the chance. Doing too many things at once now...
Here we are 8 pages later and my POV has not changed:

It really pretty simple. In either scenario you don't OWE the guy a refund. BUT you could have avoid the entire thing if you didn't upsell any of your services. Set a rate and that's it. Whatever happens behind the door is up to the two of you at that moment.

You ladies are not selling particular services as that would be illegal. You are selling your time and that's all. Eventually you ladies will figure THAT out. Either through experience or via a judge. But of course it is your business to run however you see fit.
Hmm...I didn't realize I was the only one getting punked. I started this thread because I thought this was something that happend offten and I really wanted to know what the ladies did about it and I was very intrested what men feel about the provider that would and the provider that will never.
Because I never want to come off as a greedy bitch this is something I enjoy and don't want to have any client not enjoy me because they may think I'm a greedy bitch but I also don't want to be taken advantage of because I had chose to not be viewd as a bitch. Almost every client I see tells me the same story...well your so nice and lively, be sure to stay that way and don't end up like other providers that obviously don't even want to be touched, are rude and rushy. But it seems they must be that way for a reason...so either I get mean or I consider a different career.
Well the thing is I do say no and its actully hurting me because most of my first time appointments want a discount and I say no and they cancel...and I did say no when asked for a refund and he gave me a look like I was a bitch. That's why I asked publicly to see if other ladies allow refunds and I was the only one not and I wanted to see what the men had to say about it. Originally Posted by Kandy Kelly

Your donation is set way too low and these are the kind of clientele you get. I turned down appointments a few times this week because 1 guy gave me an 'offer' of a lower amount (what??), 1 failed to read my showcase saying that I only see specific ethnicity, and sometimes I just don't feel like working.
If you make a few changes in your business, you will attract higher-class clientele who won't treat you like the way you've been treated.

Good luck,

Kandy, listen....$300-400 for a TWO hour session it totally in line, especially in Dallas or anywhere else for that matter. Assuming your level of service is also in line with expectations of course.
Not only can you charge that rate, you should be getting that rate. You ain't on BP here.

You REALLY need to talk to some of the more experienced ladies in town there about your questions and concerns. There are several in Dallas I would recommend, in fact I would be very surprised if they haven't been in contact with you already.
Ladies tend to fall into 3 categories:
  1. Those who have their whole menu at one price;
  2. Those that offer a limited menu at one price; and
  3. Those who offer the menu ala carte.
There are ladies that love Greek (not many).
There are ladies that never offer Greek under any circumstances.
There are those that offer it ala carte.

IMHO, the ala carte menu is the hardest to deal with. Just my POV.

Sunshine KK, I agree with Samantha, especially the first paragragh. I guess the only other thing to be added is, with increasing your rate, increasing your standards, and standing for yourself, stay true to WHO and WHAT you are, I would add that with those slight yet smart adjustments, your clientele will improve, as Samantha said, your self confidence/appreciation will improve and so will your reviews. Word of mouth, my dear, can't be beat. Just remember, feeling better about yourself and improving your confidence cant be allowed to go to your head. Their are only a few providers on here that HAVE let it go to their head, and they stick out like a soar thumb, and as I've researched, arent really appreciated by many, if any hobbyists as well as other providers. You seem too sweet, kind and good.....PLEASE dont let that happen to you. As I said before, you're gettin TONS of great advice here, just dont forget who you are. And I mean the REAL you. Not KK. The 'you' that you have become. Dont turn into the few providers(as I mentioned above)who have lost respect from both sides of the lifestyle.
C.C. gave GREAT advice too. Find them, PM them and become a sponge.
