Change of subject: For the first time in years, I had a quiet Thanksgiving. I wasnt surrounded by a million people or a giant feast. While I enjoy the solitude, a warm fire, and a romance novel, I feel slightly cheated. Call it thanksgiving craziness and and tryptophan withdrawal. I need a feast. I want stuffing/dressing and a post turkey comatose slumber. Green bean casserole, buttery sweet corn, cranberry sauce and hot rolls! Whwre is my overstuffed refrigerator and leftover turkey sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?!
It is lunch time...I'm starving...

Yeah, you were cheated. But, did you do it to yourself? Perhaps you could intentionally over schedule things next year, for the entire weekend, as some folks do the bird on days other than Thursday. I do the single guy routine and: Easily more than one dinner invite and different days as well. And, folks that show up stag at dinners always get loaded up with take home leftovers. I haven’t been to the store since last Weds and I've still got half a sliced bird from Sunday’s invite in the fridge.

Okay...so a few weeks ago, I ordered a dishwasher. I went to pick it up this morning and called around for a handyman to install it today...
About an hour later, I receive a knock on my door from a deliciously delectable man...wow. Anyways, being the awesome hostess that I am, I show him to the kitchen. I sit just outside the kitchen area to give him some space but definitely close enough to admire him as he works.
I am EAGER...to help that is...
"Is there anything I can do? Anything I can help you with???" I offer.
He takes a brief moment to ponder the thought, and instructs me that all I need to do is just sit here and look pretty.
Now THAT I can do
Now, I'll have to call his boss and put in a work order to have all the doorways widened for me to fit my head through...LOL!
