The Bills : )

So, this isn’t exactly about the Bills, but it’s definitely football related, and of course affect the Bills this season.

I completely forgot that the HOF game was on the other night, but I did see some highlights the next day on The Herd with Colin Cowherd.

What is everyone’s thoughts on the new kickoff rule? I’ve honestly hadn’t had a chance to check out the new rule, so I don’t have a clue. But, from the highlights, it looks pretty funky lol.

Wondering what you folks think about it that watched the game the other night and/or understand what the deal is with this new rule.

Similar to UFL rules
Its different
Not sure I like it, I am kinda indifferent about it at this point

Yea, I dunno either. But, maybe we won’t have as many touchbacks this year lol

I'm thinking that most coaches are still still going to have their kicker put it into the end zone regardless. There's only a 5 yard change from 25 to 30 lines.

I shouldn't put this link up, as this outfit's info supports my betting, but as the Bills are going to lose to KC anyway, here it is for the 2023 kickoff stats.
Note you can dial back all the way to the 1940s and select other types of plays.

Last, even though the stated intent is to avoid full speed contact (opposing force physics) I think may actually increase for plays with balls landing in the 0 to 20 zone. I do see man to man blocking upfield, but if there's two receivers there will be one kickoff team member coming at receiver at full speed.

Probably the only thing I dont like is that it screws up the surprize onside kick. Love when a team has the balls to try it on the opening kickoff. All gone forever...

I was thinking the same thing, that it ruins the surprise onside kick. During the 2011 Packers/Steelers Super Bowl, the Packers pulled one off to start the 2nd half.

Who is the rookie Van Pran-Granger?
And, should one of ECG's friends get his jersey so I can use it for Firestarter later this fall?
