2019 list of socialists and communists in Congress


I’ve been asked to compile a list of socialists and communists in Congress. A friend of mine was challenged to name “even two socialists in Congress.” Altogether, if you add in Islamist connections I think about 100 members of the House of Representatives would struggle to pass a low-level background security check… but guess what? There are no security checks in Congress.

Here’s my list of 50 of the most obvious socialists in the House, with links to my website Keywiki for the backup evidence. Apologies to the many I’ve omitted. [NOTE the number of members from the state of California ~ Ed.]

Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) Has worked closely with the Communist Party USA since at least 1993. A self-described “Alinskyite.” Traveled to Cuba in 2015.

Ami Bera (D-CA) Has used Communist Party USA campaign volunteers in 2010, 2014 and 2016. Also close to Democratic Socialists of America.

Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) Very close to several key Communist Party USA allies in San Francisco in the 1970s and ’80s. Also some involvement with Democratic Socialists of America.

Barbara Lee (D-CA) Lee has been close to the Communist Party USA for decades. In the 1990s she was a leading member of the Communist Party spin-off Committees of Correspondence. Has been to Cuba more than 20 times.

Ro Khanna (D-CA) Very close to Democratic Socialists of America.

Salud Carbajal (D-CA) Long history with Democratic Socialists of America members.

Judy Chu (D-CA) Was heavily involved with the now-defunct pro-Beijing Communist Workers Party in the 1970s and ’80s. Still works closely with former members today. China’s best friend in the US Congress.

Raul Ruiz (D-CA) Worked closely with Workers World Party members in Massachusetts in the late 1990s.

Biden’s VP ‘Short-Lister’ Karen Bass was Organizer for the KGB/Cuban-Intelligence Founded Venceremos Brigades

“In the mid-1970s, California Congresswoman Karen Bass, who is now under consideration to be Joe Biden’s running mate, was an organizer for the Venceremos Brigade… An event blurb in an October 1975 issue of the communist Daily World newspaper describes Bass, then 22, as “leader of the Venceremos Brigade in southern California….As a ‘brigadista’ and then organizer for the Venceremos Brigades, Karen visited Cuba every 6 months.” (Tablet magazine, 7/28.)

In that heady Age of Aquarius hundreds of starry-eyed college kids were volunteering to “help build Cuban Socialism” and “fight U.S. Imperialism,” mostly by joyfully cutting Cuban sugar cane and raptly imbibing communist propaganda lectures while seated in front of large pics of Che Guevara and “Uncle” Ho Chi Minh.

In fact, the terrorist offshoot from the SDS (Students for a Democratic Society) known as The Weathermen and staffed most famously by Barack Obama’s future “neighbors” Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn served as the DGI’s U.S. recruitment officers at the time, which proved easy. Castro’s DGI and their KGB masters had other goals in mind, as we’ll see in a minute.

Okay, that Karen Bass was a very enthusiastic and active Venceremos Brigadista, we’ve already established. But was there more to these Venceremos Brigades? Perhaps a declassified FBI report (from well before the bureau was run by people by Comey, I might add) might help:

“The ultimate objective of the DGI (Cuban Intelligence’s) in setting up the Venceremos Brigades “is the recruitment of individuals who are politically oriented and who someday may obtain a position, elective or appointive, somewhere in the U.S. Government, which would provide the Cuban Government with access to political, economic and military intelligence.”

Interestingly, right at about this time, Cuba’s DGI, which had always been mentored by the KGB, come under direct and total control of the KGB. Let’s see the sworn testimony of a high-ranking DGI defector during Congressional hearing titled: The Role of Cuba in International Terrorism and Subversion, Intelligence Activities of the DGI, Feb. 26, 1982, US Senate Subcommittee on Security and Terrorism, Feb. 26, 1982?:

“Mr. Gerardo Peraza (a high-ranking Cuban intelligence defector)” Between the years 1959 to 1970 there was close cooperation between Cuba and the KGB. But by beginning of 1970, the intelligence service of Cuba was placed under the DIRECT ORDERS of KGB Colonel Simonov.”

“Senator DENTON. Are you personally aware, Señor Peraza, that there were any successful placings of high-ranking DGI or KGB agents within the U.S. intelligence service or any defense or security-oriented agencies?

“Mr. PERAZA. Yes, definitely. We can use as an example the (U.S.) Senate. “

“Senator DENTON. I imagine we better have a closed session on that.’

“Mr. PERAZA. “Yes, yes. “

In fact, according to yet another high-ranking Cuban DGI defector, Jesus Perez Mendes, the DGI didn’t just control the Venceremos Brigades of starry-eyed American students of the time, they actually helped pick them!

Ok, that Karen Bass often traveled to Cuba in the early 70’s when it was officially illegal and very difficult, we’ve established. But what of it, Humberto, some might ask? I mean, a lot of college kids were stupid and duped at the time. Hasn’t Rep. Bass mended her ways?

In fact, Rep. Bass has continued visiting totalitarian Cuba (which carefully vets all political visitors) and has been traveling there quite often. Plus, while there, she seems to be hob-knobbing with some pretty shady people, intelligence–wise.

For instance, in one of her (apparent) publicity pics, we find Bass in the company of a KGB-trained Cuban spy, Josefina Vidal, who was expelled from the U.S. in 2003, pursuant to the arrest of top Cuban spy Ana Belen Montes, responsible for the most damaging penetration of the U.S. Dept. of Defense in recent history. Montes was convicted of the same crimes as Ethel and Julius Rosenberg.

While accompanied by Vidal, the seemingly enchanted Karen Bass also poses in front of pics of Raul Castro, Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, whose lifelong obsession was the destruction of the U.S. (Please see here if you think I’m exaggerating.)

Now let’s go back to those Congressional hearings for more tid-bits, regarding Bass’ Cuban companions:

“Sen. Denton: “(Julian Torres) Rizo was at the DGI (Cuba’s KGB-controlled intelligence service) Station chief in New York for 3 years, as I understand it.

“Mr. PERAZA. “Yes. He was also an active DGI agent in the Venceremos Brigade camps.

“Mr. PERAZA. Yes. This was his first intelligence job. His first intelligence job was to recruit members of the Venceremos Brigade. He had also connections with many North Americans, preparing himself to come to the United States. And he continued directing the work of these agents in the United States.”

And wouldn’t you know it? In another apparent publicity pic from one of her red-carpet trips to Stalinist, Terror-Sponsoring Cuba we find an (apparently) enchanted Karen Bass accompanied by an old Venceremos Brigadista comrade named Gail Reed who is married to Julian Torres Rizo!

That Venceremos Brigadista Gail Reed married the DGI Venceremos Brigade handler Julian Torres Rizo is thoroughly documented by America’s top Cuba spycatcher (retired) Lt Col. Christopher Simmons of the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Orange Man Bad? Democrats Worse

For years, #NeverTrump activists were pushing the challenge to Trump supporters on social media: “Is there anything that Trump could do that would cause you to stop supporting him?” It was one of the primary “Orange Man Bad” themes.

The morality test is that Trump supporters are abandoning all principle by worshipping Donald Trump as our Messiah and engaging in a cult. Leftists in both parties have lied about Donald Trump, hurling smears and invective, accusinng Trump of saying things that Trump never said and doing things Trump never did. And yet it just isn’t working.

Why don’t any of their attacks on Trump succeed? It cannot be because the #NeverTrump arguments are dishonest, unfounded, and unpersuasive. It has to be because Trump supporters are mesmerized. Trump has fooled us all into thinking he is wonderful.

Never will #NeverTrumpers reexamine their arguments.

The correct answer is obviously: “No, there is nothing that Donald Trump can do to lose my support, because I am not judging the 2016 or 2020 elections based on Trump’s supposed perfection.” Because any intelligent person’s necessary support Donald Trump has nothing to do with whether Trump is flawless or not, Leftists are wasting their time. Donald Trump being without faults never played any role in our decision.


In 2012, the Republican Party made a fatal mistake. (Well, many, actually.) The main message of the Republican presidential campaign from those trying to drag Mitt Romney across the finish line was “Obama bad.” Not “Mitt Romney better.”

But voters don’t vote that way. The voters, I believe, were ready to concede that in many ways: “Obama bad.” But… were the voters convinced “Mitt Romney was better?” No.

The GOP did not even try to argue that. If you don’t attempt to convince the voters why your guy is better, they are not stupid. The voters will read between the lines and notice what you left out of your message.

I am convinced that in 2012 many voters agreed “Yes, Obama is troubling, but would Bain Capital’s Mitt Romney drive the economy into another 2008 meltdown? Do I want to take that chance? Maybe re-electing Obama is the less-risky choice.”

The GOP failed to counter attacks. Defending yourself wouldn’t be polite. A gentleman just allows people to lie about him. It would be unseemly to point out your opponents’ lies. The GOP never to this day (I mean the party officially) rebutted the lies about the 2008 economic mortgage-collapse crisis or explained the Democrats’ guilt in creating it.

Why would I ever vote for any Democrat, especially Joe Biden? I was Christine O’Donnell’s campaign manager briefly when she ran against Biden in 2008 for the Delaware U.S. Senate seat, helping her win the Republican nomination along with Gretchen Ellixson, John Feroce, and others. I created a website “The Biden Quiz” documenting in precise detail (after Christine argued it) that Joe Biden was among the most far-left U.S. Senators.

Biden has never been a moderate. Worse, Biden is a chameleon, a voiceover actor who simply memorizes talking points and delivers them like a narrator in a TV commercial. Biden doesn’t actually believe in anything. But he does echo precisely whatever the far Left says or wants.

All Joe has had to do for decades is repeat the talking points popular at the moment and collect applause. In his left-wing bubble, when Joe could say no wrong, it ceased to matter what came out of Biden’s mouth.

Rich Lowry’s National Review actually launched the #NeverTrump hysteria with its landmark 2016 edition “Conservatives Against Trump. Within two years, Rich Lowry tried to retreat from the mania. Writing in Politico, this week, Lowry tried to build common ground between the #NeverTrumpers he championed and Trump voters, without the benefit of a map. In “The Folly of the Never Republicans,” rather than deconstructing the reasons for the chasm, Lowry merely warns that burning down the Republican Party by electing Biden will not create a better outcome. Lowry concedes that Trump is an unacceptable boor -- suspiciously like what critics said about Winston Churchill and uncultured frontier woodsman Abraham Lincoln. But Lowry urges #NeverTrumpers to step back from the cliff.

#NeverTrumpers can point out a thousand faults of Donald Trump -- none of which are true, but let’s focus on the point. The alternative candidates are worse.

One cannot point the finger at Trump when the candidates they are pushing are terrible. That includes the polite, dignified Republicans who think that letting the Democrats win makes them the better man. Or maybe they think that if they attack their own party, the alligators will eat them last. Haven’t we already tried those type of Republicans for decades? What could possibly make anyone want to back to those “dignified” Republicans? They are the problem, not the solution.

The anti-Trump lies are astonishing after establishment Republicans spent decades fooling the voters and breaking their promises. The GOP since 1964 has lied to voters, promised common sense, conservative reforms, and then voting with the Democrats to enact left-wing, grow-the-government policies and general lunacy. Yet now they want to tell us that Trump has fooled us.

I am making an intelligent, informed choice from my deep involvement in politics and government since 1984 that the modern Democrat Party has become a destructive force. It’s not your grandfather’s party anymore. The “New Left” rioted at the Democrat National Committee in 1968 just like they are doing today. The Democrats actually booed God at their 2012 Democrat National Convention.

Even if “Orange Man Bad” we must also compare: “Democrats Worse.”

Some just want to live in ignorance and let orwellian marxists control and make their lives 'safe".
