ECCIE ELITE EIGHT NCAA BRACKET CONTEST?

ANONONE's Avatar
Is anyone interested in perhaps doing a small scale bracket challenge here? We can do it just for giggles this year and if it works out well, perhaps we can make it more interesting next year and have a fee involved and perhaps a provider or two will offer their services to the winners taking their fee from the pot and the rest going to charity?

For this time, lets keep the rules simple. You have to play both Men's and Women's tournaments. Simply name your final four from each contest with the team you are picking in the number 1 slot being your choice for the NCAA champion.

For instance, here is my guess without the actual brackets pairings being out yet (I will post my REAL ENTRY later tonight after I see the pairings):

Men:
1) Kentucky (final champ)
2) Kansas
3) West Virginia
4) Minnesota

Women:
1) UCONN (final champ)
2) Nebraska
3) Tennessee
4) Xavier

Anybody interested? If there aren't any bites to make this interesting i will come up with some way to make it worth the while and give the winner a prize that has a hobby theme.
Grew up in Indiana, the basketball state, and still know next to nothing (or, if you follow sports, I know nothing) about basketball.

[From strictly a legal POV, I'd counsel against a system that had a "winner" on such public board. Maybe the Mods should weigh in.]

Okay, so we do it for fun. To keep this tied to the hobby, I will donate a hobby related prize to the winner. It will be a little assorted gift pack of toys and other items you can use on your next session.

UCONN women? Way to go out on a limb there, Anonone. LOL.

My surprise pick for the women is Texas Aggies.

Pick for the men is Kansas, period.

Yeah,

I am a die hard Lady Vols fan, but I don't think anyone is going to touch Gino's gals this year.

Just waiting for the lady brackets to come out tonight to post my actual picks.

Chipper, once again, if this needs to be moved to a sandbox, please move it to the Ohio region. If folks from out of state still want to play, no worries, we just don't seem to have a national sandbox yet.

Thanks!

Here are more details on the prize I am donating for the contest

The Prize will be a gift box that includes:

  • A Gift Card For Restaurant/Desert
  • An assortment of condoms
  • Four bottles of Grape Seed Oil
  • KY Gift Sampler
  • An assortment of toys
  • Dark chocolate sampler
  • Steamy video collection

Looks like there is not much interest. If you want to do it for just a beer. . .

Not a bad idea, but should be more pairs to choose from ANON, now that be fun.

Glad this wasn't for real, my picks sucked!

Maybe by next year we will have a national sandbox and somebody that is more gifted with computers could do an actual bracket on this board?

Do a women's and a men's bracket, gents put some money in, ladies offer time, make some type of prize where the various final winners hook up--men get the prize of having some BCD fun and the ladies get to split the pot?

This could have some potential--we have a year to think on it.
