Do you wear a watch?

The watch has become obsolete (and completely annoying) now that everybody carries a phone.

The more important question is - Why did the Tinman put the words "a Timex" in parenthesis....hmmmmm? I wonder....?

Actually, one of the watches I’m considering IS a Timex. One of the plainer looking ones with a simple, non-embossed, dark leather band.

Tia,

Losing a watch that has that sort of meaning for you is terrible!

One reason why I asked is my elderly Mother wishes to buy something special for me. And I’ve considered a watch.

Can’t remember the brand name but found one (online) a few weeks ago, on sale at Nordstrom’s, which has a larger ‘face’ and very plain numbers. The band is a lighter brown, almost beige and it’s rose gold.

Imagining it on my wrist, seems as if the piece could be half jewelry but also, understated, which is my intent. Also, because of the style, could be dressier or work with jeans.

Basically, I’m trying to dress up more after several years of being more of a jeans and T-shirt gal.

Wanting to go back to wearing dresses and a bit more makeup. Hence, the question.

I prefer a FitBit. It tells me the time and pulse rate and other things that keep me healthy.

I really dislike the trend of having BIG, gaudy watches the past few years. And you Rolex folks....I don't mean to offend anyone personally....but I have NEVER understood the obsession with buying watches that cost as much as decent cars. Don't even bother with telling me about how "sturdy" or "dependable" they are. You're paying most of those big $$ for the name and the "status" of telling everyone that you are a big deal. Whatta waste...think of all the hooks you could fuck...I wouldn't buy one if I had Donald's money........

.
Jackie S nice watch .

If you take some 3 M imperial hand glaze used to polish automotive paint and apply some to a cloth and rub the hell out your watch crystal it will remove most small scratch's .

Also for those that have faded head lights on there auto's take off bug repellent spray on headlight wipe instantly then use the 3 M glaze and it will restore to almost new your headlights .

Just throwing that out there .

Love the watch thread though ,And i think that it is very nice Elisabeth that your mom is getting you a watch and you made a nice selection .

But i do love a T-Shirt and jeans kinda gal so dont change to much .

I do not own a wrist watch. I actually carry a pocket watch at all times. Old fashioned that way........

I have not worn a wrist watch in over 20 years, seems like I always have my phone on me for checking the time. Funny thing is though, at times I still catch myself looking at my wrist for it!
