Title does NOT say it all. I am quite confused about what you were asking. You made an appointment for Thanksgiving and were too drunk last night to think of an excuse as to why you must be elsewhere for a couple of hours today? Why did you schedule a booty call in the first place for a family holiday when absence is tough to explain?

You could tell the SO that you need to go shopping, as there are several stores open with Turkey Day specials, but then you had better have some package when you go home. I suppose you could say that you went lay-away.

Ok I agree that I should have put more thought into asking for help on today's antics and on today's antics itself. Thankfully Best Buy opening at 5 helped me out.
