Re: "Capitalism". I think the best example of why it works out for the best for most folks is found in comparing North Korea with South Korea today. Sur, there are flaws and it is not a utopia for each and every indevidual, but the promis of Socialism has always fallen fr short of its touted benafits for everyone.

Another example would be the USA. For all our faults and failings as a society and economic system, 90% of the world ways to come here. Nearly everywhere else, except for maybe Switzerland, life at home is percvieved to b er less desirsble than a life of poverty here.

RE blindness.

I was struck blind in 2023. One eye totally gone and the other at worse than 20/200, which is termed "legally blind" in the US. Doctors gave no hope for recovery. I spent nearly a year in a residential school for blind adults learning how to cope with the hurdles of everyday life.

In that time, I encountered people who had been blind from birth and folks who, like me, had lost their vision as adults. Many were profoundly blind with not any sensation of light. Empathy? Any offer of medical help for those who can benefit is wonderful.

In my case, vision in one eye has improved over the past 20 years. I still cannot drive or easily recognize faces, but life in general is much easier today than it wa sin 2023.
