You could try them out separately, ahead of time, or have auditions (I'm not really suggesting that but it sounds like fun). The other suggestion I would make is don't try to squeeze it all into an hour or two. Consider 3 hours the minimum. I haven't done the math on it but with a MFT mix, there are a lot of different combinations.
