I think the tendency definitely leans towards providers to burn clients in the end. That has happened to me with a beautiful girl that I hung out with for a year and a half. Most likely, I was one of the last clients to see her before her sobriety. I may or may not try to reconnect at some point but she ain't cheap and our 25 year age gap makes me even scratch my head.

That said, I think every person / provider is a little different. It might depend on how you both mesh and what you can offer.
