I HAVE A DELL THAT SHUT DOWN AND I NEED MY PICS ON IT AND I HAVE A SPIRE ONE THAT GETS HOT...

Pull the hard drive out and slave it to a pc.
You can also buy an external drive case and just plug it in to a USB port.

If you were in NY I would do it for you as I bent you over the sofa.

DON'T PLACE YOUR LAPTOP ON ANY FABRIC LIKE A BEDSPREAD / PILLOW ETC THAT WILL BLOCK THE FANS AND OVERHEAT IT ... i would suggest a docking station with a fan ... also get some duster, flip the laptop over and blow out any dust / debree that may have built up so you can keep it cooled down ...
