Is Rainey Street Historic District a good area to stay?

Not so much, the street is closed to vehicle traffic on Thur, Fri and Sat nites, and I doubt many would brave the traffic to come see you. Rainey is a good place to visit though, but use alternate transportation.

During the week no concern with the street being shut down. However parking is at a premium down there. I'd recommend anyone visiting to Uber to you. Otherwise the only other viable option with all the construction and heavy traffic would be to Valet at the hotel on Davis.

Too congested. Even when there is parking by the hotel, off the feeder road, it gets too congested.

Domain or Arboretum is likely your best bet.

Lot's of great hotel and AirBnB options in the Domain with great parking. Also lots of fun up-scale places to eat and drink.

No such thing as staying at Rainey. Holiday Inn is all there is. AirNBee means big $
