Lessons from the "shutdown".

Disclaimer: Despite this reduction being called a shutdown, I will call it a shutdown for purposes of brevity.

Contrary to what some say the United States is alive and well. The very fact that the country still works shows that Washington has not completed it's plan for a centralized government. In most European countries give up as soon as the capital falls to the enemy as their countries function poorly without the central authority. Another encouraging fact is the American people are squawking plenty about the abuses of OUR government. We recognize the need for some real change which means bringing power back to the people. Our chosen representatives are now listening to the people, well half of them anyway. That is a start. People are finally getting a true look at a possible future under a strong central government and for many it is not a pretty sight.

Hopefully a lot of people have learned that government is not the answer and to put your full and complete faith in it is eventual suicide. So many have given themselves only one way to live or profit, government. When that fails or staggers, they also fall with it. Has anyone else read the stories of someone needing a drug and the only place the know to get is government. Government has, by it's very nature, destroyed any competition. We need to move away from government and find, or develop, options outside of government. Healthcare was the next big step and like a seriously ill patient the country is fighting back against death of the dream.

The GOP may cave or the Democrats may see reason but more people have woken up and those who are awake have moved closer to taking action.

"Based on estimates drawn from CBO and OMB data, 83 percent of government operations will continue. This figure assumes that the government pays amounts due on appropriations obligated before the shutdown ($512 billion), spends $225 billion on exempted military and civilian personnel, pays entitlement benefits for those found eligible before the shutdown (about $2 trillion), and pays interest costs when due ($237 billion). This is about 83 percent of projected 2014 spending of $3.6 trillion."
Right CC. Like I said several days ago, there is no "shutdown." It is just a scare word the Democrats and their lunatic following use. When I was in kindergarten, the phrase was "the sky is falling."

Obama says he won't negotiate....
but he delayed the business mandate one year
and he's approved the back pay for the 800K nonessential Federal employees
but he won't approve the various bills that open the parks and provide other services.

All because he won't delay the individual mandate one year and lift the medical device tax.

He wants to kick the can down the road 6 months like he did the 6 months before that and the 6 months before that ad nauseum...

Obama's popularity is taking a hit and the population is equally divided on who is responsible which is an improvement for the GOP. The longer this goes on, the more it is going to damage the democrats as the GOP has proposed and passed bills to pay the troops, fund the NIH, repeal the medical instrument tax, make all members of Congress abide by the Obamacare law. The longer this goes on the more people will hear about it.
