Dont forget to include a coffee-table Book of Stories to accompany the piece of art

It reinforces that I really don't know art.

Sorry, but the person who bought that is someone who has (had) too much money.

It looks completely disgusting to me, especially as a non-smoker and a reasonably neat person...but I have to hand it to her, she is so clever with this idea. I've been to MANY museums and it's always the strangest things drawing the most attention.

Welcome to the site Ms Solitare, looks like you have some great reviews so far. If you decide to tour Houston, send me a message, I like your thought process.

Whoa ... $4.25M?

Clearly, I've missed my calling. A pigsty of a bed has already been done. Hmmm ... let's see ... I've got a workbench in my garage that's currently a hellish mess. ERRRR, I mean, "an artistic mess." As Lexie says: let's start the bidding!

The story made me smile and thanks for sharing it!

Just watched the movie about Basquiat last week. Not sure what I feel about the artist, personally, but he was certainly a driven and interesting person to learn more about.

I need to get more involved with the study of art. Anyway, like what was said. You never know what might prove interesting.

I was in Chicago last March and visited The Art Institute there. One of the "shows" was an empty room painted white. And in one corner, was a small still life that supposedly represented the death of the artist's partner.

It did make a statement. I just don't know what that statement was. But it obviously worked for many people and it was being shown at this place, which is very famous.

So what do I know? I just wish that I could think of these ideas, first!

I just was wanting to be mysterious, I guess.

Oh ... my bed is very interesting. Very pretty with white high count cotton sheets. But I have an under the bed restraint system (I'm sure I'm not alone with that!) and a lot of interesting things in the peripheral.

But it's certainly a different vibe than the art exhibit above. Mine is rather clean and pristine. Then, it gets a bit messy. But nothing like that!

Love that avatar so much Liz, glad you returned it!

I've been seriously depressed earlier in my life, for many good reasons & I've spent much more time in my bed than others, but I guess I should thank God (and the hobby) that it's never gotten so bad that I couldn't get out of it each day and go on, do laundry, etc. I've never had liquor bottles just laying around...ever, no matter how bad it was and believe me it's been rough at times. I could alway hear my Mom's voice in my head say, "just pick yourself up and dust yourself off."

The art buyer also gets all the mites and bedbugs, too. Good investment.

Saw that article some time back. Made me contemplate what I could get for my teenage son's room. Should fetch at least twice the price.

I mean seriously, if you think of all the guys out there wanting to buy panties, it would seem like the ulitmate purchase...just throw in a few thongs, bikinis and boy shorts...just pick your ATF and make an offer.
