(CNN)The third round of Democratic primary debates, hosted by ABC and Univision, will take place the second week of September. Presidential candidates have until late August to reach polling and grassroots fundraising thresholds set by the Democratic National Committee.

Candidates must receive contributions from at least 130,000 individuals, coming from at least 400 unique donors in 20 or more states. They also need to reach 2% in at least four DNC-approved polls.

So far, 10 candidates have met both thresholds, qualifying them for the debates scheduled for September 12 and 13:
  1. Former Vice President Joe Biden
  2. New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker
  3. Mayor Pete Buttigieg
  4. Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro
  5. California Sen. Kamala Harris
  6. Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar
  7. Former Rep. Beto O'Rourke
  8. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders
  9. Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren
  10. Businessman Andrew Yang

Additionally, there are now 14 Democrats who say they have met the fundraising threshold.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, billionaire Tom Steyer, Washington Gov. Jay Insee and author Marianne Williamsonhave reached the fundraising threshold, but still need to hit their polling minimum to qualify. Steyer has received three of his four necessary polls, Gabbard has two, while Inslee and Williamson have none.

All other candidates haven't reached above 2% in any qualifying polls.

The DNC requires that all polls be conducted by an approved pollster, released between June 28 and August 28, 2019, conducted nationally or in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and/or Nevada, and fit a certain question structure.

The candidate must get above 2% support in four or more polls of this nature, and they cannot be conducted by the same pollster in the same region.

interesting.. those are the exact 10 names I would have liked to see advance.. and ONLY those 10.. the rest don't cut it, honestly..

I thought the debates were at the end of the month.. I learned something.

what if ONLY 10 qualify? would that be 5 for each night?

on the other hand, 5 per night would seem more manageable with more opportunity for each to respond. and that would mean two nights on TV. but the ratings haven't exactly been through the roof have they?

and a two night format gives the second set a preview of what resonates and what does not. i presume the lineup has been/will be shuffled to reduce this?

as far as who's left i agree but for a different reason. with the exception of Biden, they are all left leaning (Biden is getting dragged that direction), women and/or minorities. this is exactly what the DNC wants and what they are convinced can defeat Trump.

The DNC couldn't be more wrong. the farther left the Democratic candidates go, the more they lose the core of Democratic voters. Like Bernie in 2016 the DNC will ensure the candidate they want, not what the primary voters want, ends up getting the nomination.

Ironic that Bernie now actually has a path, yeah?

cut down to 7 quickly.
Booker is an ahole.
Castro is clueless, worse than a zombie
Yang simply doesn't have a chance.

I don;t understand why the Dim national board hasn't thinned it down already.
They are just letting infighting run amuck.
But it is entertaining

Gabbard, Bullock and Delaney are the only sane ones left and don’t have a chance. Just like Webb in 2016. Oh well.

But, they should be sandbagging several others by now as well. The election is only 15 months away.

Are they going to wait for the "Lights Low" (DIM) convention before they gang up on trump?
