It will be Katerina's first visit to Birmingham. ANy advice on the safer/most convenient areas to stay are appreciated. PM is preferred.

Hoover or US-280 are the safest places to stay around Bham. Both are right off I-459 and have plenty of places for food and shopping. Just about 15 mins south of Bham, and easy to get in and out of.

I concur with EJStorm. The Collonade area in particular but hotels down 280 like Hyatt Place are very reasonably safe and reliable. Hotels in Hoover area near I-459 also good recommendation.

Colonnade is definitely the best in my opinion. 280 is the best location and Colonnade is the best location on 280.

Pensacola area is the safest place in BHam IMHO.
