CLOSING THREADS

Why is it one can post an inane thread and then because they are not getting the responses they crave in their attention whoring way can request it be closed, and then a modtard closes it?

People freely start threads. I am assuming these people are of adult age and are capable of making big boy/girl decisions. Let the threads stay open. The one above probably would not even have gone sideways and would have died a natural thread death.

Yes, I asked the moderators to close my thread - and since he obliged within just a couple of minutes, I suspect he agreed that it was a train wreck.

It is too bad... Because I do think the question brings value. I suspect a lot of hobbiests fantasize about an overnight date, but are not quite sure what to expect. You can't just "bring your penis" - 10 to 12 hours is a LONG TIME! And even if you are man enough to hang all night - a lot of girls are not going to be excited at being treated like a pin cushion.

I have done a coupe of multi hour dates at my home with some success, and in that case I make sure to have an assortment of beers, wine, fruit and appetizers available. I think for an overnight you really also need to think about going out. Dinner? Clubbing?

But I have never done an overnight at a hotel away from home... A good discussin topic? Do any of the girls have any preferences or ideas? Yeah, I thought it was a decent topic, apparently others didn't, so I asked to have the thread closed.

I don't post a lot, I have done a few reviews.... Girls that have expressed appreciation for a kind word and a couple that I felt compelled to warn off. But I am not new to either this board or the hobbie.

Enough said before I get annoyed again.

buggs...you might have left your thread going a little longer... I think you would have received some qualified responses from some of the guys here. I've never done an overnight so I can't give you any advice. Consider the time of your post...a lot of us are in bed by then but you still might have gotten some feedback from the night owls.

Frankly, I did not expect to get a huge number of answers so late at night - I wanted the thread to breath a little and generate some conversation. And maybe I did jump the gun on requesting the thread closing.

But I also do not need my mother coming on line telling me I need to "date the girl a little longer before getting serious".

I approached a highly reviewed girl in the area and started a conversation with her about what I was looking for. Done! I have a date at a very nice downtown Chicago Hotel and I want both of us to have a good time.

I didn't think I was going to have to defend myself against the brute squad from such a simple conversation starter.

You're kidding, right? Mild criticism, different perspective, not the answers you wanted to hear -- but that's all normal online interaction. It's no worse, and probably much milder, than the average non-P4P online forum. You can't generate an onlin conversation without that sort of thing occuring. Most people handle that sort of thing without a problem, because they're secure and don't worry about the opinions of people they don't even know. (And they also don't worry about "defending" themselves over matters of opinion.) If they can't handle that sort of reaction, they don't ask for advice on a pseudonymous Internet message board.

I agree with Pyramider. You should have left it open. You didn't give anyone with any firsthand knowledge time to even answer. You should stand firm regardless of the crowd.

Rather than ask a thread to be closed, ignore it for a few days. May be by that time, you would have received more informative responses. If you haven't, don't respond to it so it doesn't get bumped to the first page.

People hide behind an alias on a message board like this and will hash anything out that makes them feel big and powerful... Last night I was a few drinks in and was in no way interested in the debate - especially since it had absolutely nothing to do with the topic.
