TikiCat

If you have never tried the TikiCat tiki bar in KC (in the basement of HopCat), YOU MUST!

The drinks are strong AF and delicious. The atmosphere is lush and begging for adventure. The DJ is spinning some vintage voodoo vinyl.

But the waitresses. GOOD GOD, the waitresses are fucking smoking. Their eyeliner is so on point, it begs to poke your eyes out. And their racks are a sight to behold.

Reservations are required, you're kicked out after 2 hours and they're only open a few days a week.

Speakeasy and carry a big stick. And a fat wallet.

MUAH!

Nice write (and nice review)
"...drinks are strong..." caught my attention.

Wondering if those of us based here in KC metro would contribute to or be interested in a bar / restrauant thread that mentions places.
That could be fun UC. Those of us based in KC all have our favorite restaurants and bars I'm sure, I'd like to hear about more unique or hidden gems like that mentioned by seductrix. I'm always looking for new places to try and take out my favorite ladies.
I'll post one...I like "extra vigin" in the Crossroads...for happy hour...very unique menu and kinda hip caual place.

I just dig its romantic Parisian bistro vibe. You can't go wrong taking one of your ladies there!

The art is interesting, the music is 100% hand-picked by the owner and they offer a military discount!

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

Glad you checked them out. They are a welcome addition to the Westport lineup.

And let me offer two words about TikiCat--designated driver!

Broadmoor Bistro is the restaurant run by the culinary students at Shawnee Mission South high school.

Every Wednesday night during the school year, they offer a 5-course dinner for $35 that is AMAZING! It would cost you twice that price at a regular restaurant.

It's served by the students, and they will even take you on a tour of the back of house if you ask.

They have a pastry case full of muffins and cinnamon rolls where you can take home goodies on a "pay what your heart desires" basis--of course, people always overpay since it's for a good cause.

They also have an incredible chef series where touring chefs come in and have a handpicked event to support the school. It includes passed apps, and 5 courses. The chefs are always noteworthy and usually James Beard award winners. It's usually a little pricier, but still in the $40-$45 range. Worth every penny. Just check out their calendar for dates since it is NOT on a Wednesday night.

Reservations are required. Bon Appetit!
