I started writing about politics in 2005 because neocons and establishment leaders of both parties had ushered in a state of lawlessness and authoritarianism: mass spying, unlimited presidential power, etc.
18 years later, the leaders who did that are now media icons and heroes.
There is nothing Trump did that is even in the same universe as moral evils as the invasion of Iraq and the extreme abuses of the "War on Terror."
Many are weepy that Elon Musk said don't trust media. It wasn't QAnon that lied the country into invading Iraq: it was the same august media outlets - NYT, WPost, New Yorker, Atlantic - which did that, then served as Ground Zero for Russiagate lies. They earned their contempt.
There is a mini-documentary - entitled "The Typhoid Mary of Disinformation" - on how much Nicolle D Wallace reflexively spreads lies. A million people have watched here:
