And from what he, and the Chairman of The Joint Chiefs said yesterday, it will not be on a "volunteer" basis. If you are assigned to a combat infantry unit, women and men will share the exact duties.

The Marine Commandant has requested an exemption for woman in full combat roles, I guess they will have to rule on that.


The next step is to require all US citizens to register for selective service when they turn 18, regardless of gender.

I guess it's about time.

I for one am all for women in the military But one example that comes in mind will she be able to pick up and haul out an injured team member during a fire fight? that goes for men too. If you are not physically or mentally able it could endanger more lives than its worth to be PC just my opinion

This is a good thing. This give twice the pool to select from, as there are just as many able bodied Women in this Country as able bodied Men.

I'm against it. Men act differently around women. They are much more protective when they should be killers. Also captured women get raped and that also affects our leaders judgements.

My personal opinion is that I do not want women fighting on my behalf. I certainly do not want my granddaughter in combat. If the men of this country can't fight our wars, maybe we should turn in our man cards.
