It's a preseason game... There was a lock out till a few weeks ago. More than half the guys that played friday will be cut before the season starts. Half the starter didnt even play. Yes they lost and lost bad but I did see a few things I liked out of some of the new players. Id rather them play the guys who dont have a freakin clue what they are doing so we can get rid of them now then to have them be on the 2nd string come season and then get out there and mess it all up.. we still have 3 weeks to weed out the bad one and of course there will still be a bad seed in the mix but Im not too worried just yet!
Not to be a dick or anything, but shouldn't this be in The Sandbox. I started a thread over there on Football predictions, because that is where the sports talk has been at in the past.

Just asking
Oenghus, I'm sure it will be moved.

I'm just shocked Danny wrote something coherent and not one of his wild verses about rainbows and unicorns and the various other things that can't be mentioned lest I want to be reprimanded.

The biggest problem I see with the pitiful display of athletic activity (no way it could be called football) that took place last Friday evening, is that it took place in front of the team's home town fans.

It was highway robbery to charge fans for those tickets, parking and concessions. Practice should take place in training camp, not in front of loyal fans who payed a lot of money to be in the stadium. When will the refunds be mailed?

I got free tickets, and just paying the $27!! for parking and $8 per beer is crazy.

I can understand not wanting any of the top player getting hurt during a preseason game but what Haley does not understand is that he has to sell the team so people will buy tickets to the game. I have heard many complaints from those who wasted money on tickets to the preseason game and many now would not waste the money on a ticket to a regular season game because of their performance. I have thought about saving money and getting tickets to a game this year but after the poor playing on Friday I am not so sure and they need to worry about attendance unless they want another blackout game.

I'm dating myself here but I remember all too well the early eighties when the Chiefs would play their starters the whole game, go 4-0 or 3-1 in the preseason, proclaim themselves to be a contender, then go 4-12 during the season.

Again and again and again.

I'm inclined to cut Haley a little slack. Nobody is going to remember the win/loss record during the preseason.
