Escortsite DNS help - other hosting services

I'm trying to get escortsite to point my purchased domain name to a new website I created at weebly.. Escortsite though, is not responding to my requests, and no one has been online for their chat option for days. I have the IP addy from weebly I need to get my domain to point to the new site, but don't understand Escortsite's DNS set up. Does anyone have experience with them and can tell me where to input the new destination?

Also, I'm looking into a different domain server all together, anyone know a good one with a privacy feature that will not allow searches of the domain owner? So that nothing shows up on the "whois" sites.

Thanks!
Out of curiosity - why weebly? Their #1 policy is no adult sites. They will shut you down.

http://www.weebly.com/terms-of-service/

hese types of sites are not allowed on Weebly:
  1. Adult: involving nudity in a sexual context, exposed genitalia or adult themes
------------

I don't know much about escortsite, but I would think they want you to keep your service with them. It'd be interesting to know if they will point your domain elsewhere for you.

I use godaddy for domain purchases and hosting.

Either way, good luck.

Where did you purchase your domain name, they can set you up so that you won't show your info in whosis, and you can get a new host and they can transfer the domain name for you, usually the former host doesn't do that. at least for me I never had them do it.

anywho, to answer your original question, wherever you decide to use as a host, you'll need this:

there are two different ways to do this-both in pure html and javascript-so i'll give you both, so it'll cover all your bases when people visit your site using different browsers. replace all of your code on your homepage [index.html page] with this:

<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html lang="en-US">
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="1;url=http://example.com">
<script type="text/javascript">
window.location.href = "http://example.com"
</script>
<title>Page Redirection</title>
</head>
<body>
If you are not redirected automatically, follow the <a href='http://example.com'>link to example</a>
</body>
</html>

obviously, replace your new webpage address with the web addresses in the code. the code will redirect your visitors to another web page instantly. The content="0; may be changed to the number of seconds you want the browser to wait before redirecting.
...anywho, that probably won't work on escortsite.com. They are a template site for escorts. She probably used them because she doesn't know HTML and I don't believe they will let her edit the HTML or CSS in their template design. They may let her transfer her domain only, but not the whole design as that's a price she pays probably per month to use their design.

------------

Calista -

IMO, your best bet would be to see if they will transfer her domain to a different host and then have your site rebuilt.

Let us know what you find out from escortsite.com. I'd be very interested in knowing. From the google searches I did on them, they don't seem to be very popular among the masses.

Feel free to pm me if you need help.

IIRC your info doesn't need to show up on whois, but anyone really interested in that can dig in to the payment info and find it. You can go with a registrar that offers "domain privacy", it's usually an added on $2/month charge or similar.
Actually When you purchase a domain name from Escort Site you agree that you can't transfer the domain. So in essence you are only borrowing a domain they have acquired. They will never answer you about that. Your best bet is to get a new name ( similar if you wish) Notify all your clients and move on.

Secondly Weebly may in fact shut the account down if they happen to see it, but they don't actively police the site. But it is a very good possibility.

What I discovered when researching where to build sites in a platform that allowed the easiest transference of power to the owner once done. I spoke with several of the companies about policy. (weebly was not one btw) but I found most do not look to inforce anything as long as hosting is paid for , their name isn't on the site anywhere and most importantly (if all those things are done) if the general public doesn't start seeing a bunch of free sites being used by escorts. Quiet frankly many have realized there is great monetary gain to be had from this industry (escorting ) but they don't wish to have the Maw and Paw Kettles and "do-gooders" breathing down their neck about the sites . Personally I have built hundreds of sites in the online platform I use and have a great working relationship with the company. They simply asked that I make sure all sites I build are custom and of course hosted ( which removes their logo) and a adult disclaimer page is used. Also keep it tasteful to some degree. ( upper nudity, no gentalia, no sex acts) If pornography is your thing then use a hosting company that allows that. There is a difference between adult themed and porno.

As for privacy of a domain...anyone can find out anything if they want to bad enough. Do your best to be discreet by doing a private domain register or go thru a company like myself. All domains are registered to Magnific Media and list all my info not yours. The Domain is yours to transfer anytime as long as we are square financially. That being said I don't normally register just a domain it comes with a site. But I am always will to talk. My company was based of helping Ladies in a multitude of ways.
Magnific, out of curiosity, if a lady wanted to leave your services, and she paid you for her domain, will you transfer her domain to her or does she have to start over with a new domain?

Also, all the sites you build are with wix. Wix can shut your sites down. Not sure who you spoke with at wix that allowed this, but their TOS is stated by their company on their site. I remember hearing about a provider who had hers shut down on there.

Building adult web sites is against wix terms of service: http://www.wix.com/about/terms-of-use

Plus............. wix sites are flash sites. They aren't QUITE mobile friendly. They do have a separate mobile version you can purchase for your site, though. Otherwise, the sites take forever to load. And anyone can build their own wix site. They have tons of templates on there to choose from if you have the time to sit there and do it. It's quite fun.

This lady's best bet is to have a real site built from scratch by a real web site designer who knows not to go against a company's terms of service and risk that provider's hard-earned money being thrown away when her site gets shut down, unless you have somewhere in your terms of service that you will give a full refund if that were to happen. Also, when you buy your domain, make sure to privately register it. Yes, someone can dig if they have the means to dig that hard.

Good luck, Magnific. Thanks for the info on escortsite.com. That was good to know.
I'm not using Weeby directly, just their templates. I used a third party domain hosting for my new .com that doesn't have a problem with adult content.

Dream, I did go ahead and purchase the privacy suite with the domain hosting site, because it eliminates those whois sites perfectly, good advice.

You're correct, Escortsite will not transfer my current .com even though I paid for it for the entire year. They did however, give me my domain key, giving me the access to change it myself if I wanted. All they did is make things harder for me for no reason.

I do know the basics of HTML, and escortsite allows you to access the internal programing of your site, and use both html and java. The thing is, if they would have just done what I asked, they would have stayed my registrar, and I would have continued to pay them... Idiots.

Speed racer, I'll be playing with your codes later today, I'll let you know if I can get it to work! Thanks a ton!

It seems that most every hoster is "against" adult websites.. I've had a few with different people, Escortsite the longest, but never had a problem. I know now, that if you've paid for your domain, it is indeed yours. They might not do anything with if FOR you, but your .com is yours until it expires. Its just about learning to do something with it.

Thanks bunches for all the useful info!
Seems you changes you post since I started answering you....

Magnific, I hate to be the bearer of this information, but all the sites you build are with wix. Wix can shut your sites down too. You must not have contacted them about building adult sites on their platform because they would have told you it's against their policy.

Why do you act as though you are telling me something I don't know? You are correct any hosting site can shut down anyones sites at anytime. Just ask Brooke Wild who got her GODADDY SITE SHUT DOWN LAST YEAR.

Isn't that the site you said you use?

[Quote Annie Adorable] I use go daddy for domain purchases and hosting.

That being said.... I spoke to management 2.5 years ago and explained my business model and what I was planning. Thats when they said . hosting and disclaimer please
PLUS...I have spoken to many of their employees since and they assist at times when I am having tech problems. They are familiar with the sites I build. But yes If you start a campaign against me there they probably would cave to pressure if there was enough. But why would anyone do that?

Out of curiosity, if a lady wanted to leave your services, and she paid you for her domain, will you transfer her domain to her or does she have to start over with a new domain?

ABSOLUTELY.. Unless she has not fulfilled her part of our financial agreement everything she pays for is hers to do with what she pleases.

The words you highlighted such as obscene, are all subjective to a degrees legally. And I don't work with a naked children.. Notice unlik Go Daddy the word escort is not mentioned.
Also need I remind you being and escort or paid companion is not illegal. Ladies I work with are selling companionship not sex.

Of course, you're welcome to call them and make sure, but it is written on their site. So basically anyone with a vendetta against you can call them and turn those sites in that are on your portfolio.

I did call them and discussed it. I work with them often in technical senses and much more.

Why would someone have a vendetta against me? Even if they did why would they punish their fellow provider that way?

LOOKS as though you would like some one to report my sites????
WHY??

You are certainly entitled to that opinion. In my opinion webmaster are great but they do not always offer ladies the control or cost effectiveness needed. But opinions are like asses everyone has one.
Oddly enough you are using GO DADDY and not following your own advice???
?

You may want to research before commenting... Wix sites are HTML NOW... I haven't built a flash site in over a year. They are perfect for all environments and they load perfectly!

Good luck, Magnific. Thanks for the info on escortsite.com. That was good to know. Originally Posted by Annie Adorable

Now that being said it's true any hosting company can choose to shut down any site they wish at anytime and of course adult themed sites are considered taboo by many. But so far over the last few years I have had a good working relationship with the Company I work with. All my clients are aware of the online platform I use and they are aware of the risk. I am not bamboozling ladies. You on the other hand advised her to use Go Daddy, by saying you did, and now you say ladies should use a webmaster...hmmmm I am confused.

Honestly Annie I want no problems with you. I know we are competitors and I admire your work. I am sorry you don't feel the same about me. But you are entitled to feel however you wish. Lets not make this about us or Hijack this thread for the wrong reasons.

Quote from Calista ....I used a third party domain hosting for my new .com that doesn't have a problem with adult content.

Care to share??? So when whoever get me shut down on wix I can move all my clients sites...
Sorry Calista... I was trying to help ...PM me if you need.

Calista, awesome. Let us know how it works out.
Speed, the codes worked like a charm! Thanks bunches!

TAKE THAT Escortsite!
Woohoo! Good info to know!
Annie, Escortsite was, and still are being real dicks about the whole thing. I even explained to them that I wasn't trying to transfer my domain, just point it to a new site; And I'd still be paying them.. The code Speed gave me redirects my calistasyn.com to my new site. So I'll probably leave the redirect in place until the domain expires, and buy it through a different domain host.

Since there was a few interested in the subject, thought I'd tell you guys.. I bought my domain through this place named IPage, it's pretty affordable, although a good bit more expensive than escortsite. The difference in features though, is astounding. They don't give a crap about content, as I've already had a few reps walk me through issues with getting my pics to load up. They pull up your site as they're working with you, so I damn well know these people see what it is. They, as a domain registrar have contracts with website hosting sites like Weebly, Yahoo, Wix, and TONS more.. You get the basics of any of those website hosting temples free, and the pro versions at a discount since you're going through IPage.. I don't have to worry about Weebly bothering me, because I'm not even on their servers. My domain host pays for the rights to let their members use the service, and they say it's ok.

They have all kinds of really cool features, and the security suite for privacy was less than an extra 40 for the entire year. Things like ECommerce packages with CC/Paypal integration, and easy "shop" options looked like fun, and at 12 or so bucks per suite, I can afford all the little widgets I want. Just wanted to let anyone who's looking to upgrade their website that so far, IPage has been awesome for me. Called them at 2am last night cause it wouldn't publish an update and BOOM human being on the phone and she's walking me through how to fix it.

Thanks for all the help!

Many have come to realize the financial gain to be made from our industry and will take advantage of that until a big deal is made of it. The optimum word here is "big" a big deal to some is that it doesn't take much & for others it takes alot for them to walk away from the revenue.
If their name is taken off the site they usually don't care.
I like you speak to the company I use about issues. They sign in to my account see the sites I do and SO FAR ( 2.5 year so far) it hasn't been an issue. Below is a snib-it from Ipage's policies

Utilize the Services in any manner that might subject iPage to unfavorable regulatory, law enforcement or other legal action, subject iPage to any liability for any reason, or adversely affect iPage's public image, reputation or goodwill, including, without limitation, sending or distributing sexually explicit, hateful, vulgar, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable materials as determined by iPage in its sole discretion;

The point here is they all have some "CYA" ( cover your ass) policy in case it become a problem. THE BEST ADVICE IS NO MATTER WHO HOST YOUR SITE,,, PAY FOR THE HOSTING ( $2 - $10 per month) AND TAKE THEIR NAME OFF IT AND YOU WILL LIKELY BE OK!

anywho...as I said.... glad you are Happy!
all the best
