NC & SC Recommendations!!

Hello everyone!! So, I am traveling around NC/SC for the next few weeks and was wondering what are the best/safe areas to stay?? I'd like to be someplace safe and convenient with lots of food and things to do nearby. any food or entertainment suggestions would be helpful as well, Thanks in advance!!
