Ok, Texas people. Where in the world are you hiding your McIntosh apples at??? I am serious here! (teehee)

I LOOOOVVEEE McIntosh aples and have never had a problem finding them back up north but for some reason ya'll down here seem to not believe in them.

The sweet and sour, tanginess that almost melts in your mouth after taking a nice bite. Mmmmm. It is the perfect apple!

I have been to ever grocery store that I can find, and have yet to run into the yummy fruit!

I am thinking of having some friends from up home send me a care package or two filled with these apples.

I would really appreciate it if someone might know of where I can get them down here.

I looked online to try and order some but they want to charge a butt load for them!

Here is a photo of this super delictable, flesh of sweetness:

Try Central Market or Wholefoods.

Yeah they are the best apples, crisp and tart,
my favorite also. If you can find a United Supermarket
they will usually have them.

Sprouts may have them. I prefer the fullest of the Fuji apples.

McIntosh are the best, but only in-season and when they are still fresh enough for a crunchy bite. Best right off the tree. As soon as any apple gets a little soft, it belongs in a pie.

Holy crap was it good! Nice and crisp with the perfect blend of sweetness and tartness, with some great aromatics to boot! I gave my mom a hard time for not ever having 'em growing up, but I just found out that they didn't even exist when I was a kid:

That said, I will also have to respectfully disagree with the OP regarding one apple being "the best". I firmly believe that different apples are better for different things. Some are sweet, some are tart, some taste better after cooking, some are enhanced by certain spices, some have amazing juice, some make perfect applesauce, some are crisp, some are soft... There's just such a variety that I think it's necessary to have a different favorite (which is still a matter of personal preference) for different situations. If you limit yourself to one apple, you're really missing out.
