Articles: Closure of Backpage has 'Blinded' Investigators

In short, Backpage and similar listings were useful tools against pimps and the underage sex trade. These articles are based on an interview with an Indianapolis vice cop and cite some interesting statistics.

Even the cops know that SESTA/FOSTA is a lousy idea, making it much harder to combat the "bad" aspects of the flesh trade. So they agree with us that the unintended effects of that law are probably worse than the problems it was supposed to combat.

One doesn’t have to look much further than the reports on hobby sites concerning the huge increase in women taking to the streets of dallas to ply their trade. How is that progress?

There’s a new website called yesbackpage and it looks very similar to backpage.

There are a bunch of BP knockoffs that have popped up recently. It would be sweet irony if they were allowed to survive because the feds realize that you’re never going to eradicate them all, and that they just made problems worse for local LE when they tried.
