Which is better: Winstar or Choctaw?

Never been to either one, but a friend told me that Choctaw is MUCH nicer ... more upscale.
Thoughts?

It's really 6 of one or half dozen of the other, but since your from Denton - definitely Windstar. Why drive that far to go to Choctaw?

WinStar has a bigger poker room.

Winstar

I actually like the trailer (now called The Border) better than Wonatar. I hit more at the trailer. Bit 12k playing fifty cents. I do t play the tables.

Choctaw is super bright. The only phone reception you can get is right inside the entrance...that's it!

I'm blown back how much Windstar and Choctaw charge for a room but Choctaw is nicer and more upscale than Windstar...more like Vegas casinos.

Both those casinos are run by tribes and are not regulated by any state gaming commission. I've been informed, by a very good source, that they continuously adjust the machine payouts throughout the day. As to card tables...what the heck is up with the $1 or more ante, for the house, per round? No thanks!

Just go to Vegas. Costs the same or a tiny bit more if you are flying and staying for 1-3 nights. Example on https://book.aavacations.com/ you can find an economy round trip with 3 night stay at a major casino on the strip for $300+ to however much you want to pay.

If you don't want to go to Vegas, I would give Shreveport or Lake Charles a try over Windstar or Choctaw.
If you have AT&T you get telephone everywhere inside Winstar. Why the others do not work as well, is a mystery to me.

Winstar for slots, Choctaw for tables.
choctaw has looser slots, and better promotions for playing cash poker (although they struggle to get a lot of games running), and nicer hotel rooms (although winstar just opened a new tower). they don't have daily poker tournaments though, they only have poker tournaments when a tour (WPT or WSOP) is coming through. their horse race book also gives out free PPs

winstar has a much busier poker room, runs daily poker tournaments but not as many good cash game promos, slots are tighter, their racebook charges for pps, they have a bingo hall that choctaw doesn't, way better restaurants and buffet, swimming pool is open slightly later on weekdays.

don't play table games anywhere in oklahoma, they charge a 50 cent fee that they call an "ante" every hand (unlike an ante in poker it can't be won). go to shreveport or vegas if you want to play table games.
