trump and his indictment

alvin bragg's first instinct was arrest the bodega owner and charge him with murder

he has, as his biggest scalp. the payroll tax issue of the trump organization

he's hired a pr flack to try to spin away his refusal to do his job for the citizens of new york

brazen mayhem, hurt someone, whatever, bragg will let you loose to do it again

so called small things lead directly to more violent serious things

one thing bragg has been doing however is going after trump for a campaign finance issue regarding stormy daniels

something the doj and others have passed on

trump calls bragg a racist who only cares about getting trump

it does seem politically driven with a very fanciful legal theory as its engine

but indictment looms

jonathan turley says bragg is not only out of his lane...that he's on a completely different highway

a manhattan d.a. taking to court a case the doj declined and that bragg's predecessor declined as well

which raises a lot of questions as to motivation

the statute of limitations on a campaign issue like this is 2 years, which has run

its 5 years if the case can be connected to another crime, which also has likely run

its a dimocrat thrill kill turley says

but the new york environment has its perils for a target like trump

The best day ever, Diaper Don is going down. Can't wait too see his jumpsuit match his fat face 😍.
I have a different take.

I think the DNC has told Bragg to go ahead with this asinine stunt in order to strengthen Trump’s standing with his Base, , which by all accounts makes up 40% of Republican Primary Voters.

Trump will become even more of a hero to his supporters.

The Democrats want a strong Trump in the Republican Primaries because they believe he is the one Candidate they can beat in 2024.

It’s a risky move. Many independents might see this charade for exactly what it is.

Even Mandrake the Magician has often had a hard time

Trump has barristers, also...
The case seems rather frightenley weak.

But as Ned Kelly and me-own Pap would say:

"If we have issue - let's have at it - and do it NOW!"

Bragg has no case and he knows it. it's a political stunt. he's claiming payments for "legal expenses" are .. illegal. interesting.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-ind...162455434.html

For many legal experts, even larger questions still remain about the strength of Bragg’s case. It revolves around $130,000 in payments made by Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen to a former porn actress, Stormy Daniels, toward the end of the 2016 campaign, when she was threatening to go public about an alleged sexual dalliance with Trump 10 years earlier.

The payment, arranged by Cohen after consulting with Trump, was listed internally within the Trump Organization as “legal expenses” — a description that Bragg’s prosecutors are expected to charge as illegal under a New York state law prohibiting falsifying business records.

But that charge is a misdemeanor offense, unless it can be shown to be part of an underlying crime. To make that case, and escalate the indictment into a felony, prosecutors are preparing to argue that the payment was made to Daniels to influence the 2016 election and was therefore a violation of New York state election law, as an unreported contribution by Trump to his own campaign.

But that remains an untested legal theory. Contributions to presidential campaigns are governed by federal election law and it is not clear whether New York election laws can be stretched to include expenditures in a presidential race.

The source familiar with the case acknowledged that Trump’s lawyers are likely to challenge the indictment on those grounds, among others, and that a judge could ultimately agree and “bump this back to a misdemeanor.”
Trump needs to turn the tables and file a suite against Bragg for Malicious Prosecution……..And file it in Florida.

THIS DAY IN POLITICS

Clinton settles sexual harassment suit, Nov. 14, 1998

By ANDREW GLASS

11/14/2018 12:00 AM EST

On this day in 1998, President Bill Clinton settled a sexual harassment lawsuit by making an $850,000 payment. The settlement with Paula Jones, reached without the suit going to trial, heaped fuel on Clinton’s impeachment proceedings by the Republican-controlled House. (He was acquitted in a subsequent Senate trial and completed his term in office.)

With this Republican Congress in charge.

Anything to cover up for the Biden Family Chronicles.

So, what did Trump allegedly do?

He paid off a paramour to keep her silent after a weekend affair. This was seven years ago (if it happened) which is outside the statute.

Who is the source of this information? The alleged paramour and two disgraced lawyers who have been in jail. How would Stormy know? She got money from Cohen and that is all she knows.

Disgraced lawyer Cohen says he gave Stormy $130,000 to keep her quiet according to him. That is not illegal. You could charge Stormy with prostitution, but you'd have to arrest her long after the crime.

Money is fungible, so the prosecutor is hoping to convince a jury that Trump used campaign funds to pay Cohen off. So, Cohen is a pimp? Arrest him.

How about Michael Avenati? He is a pimp. He was getting Stormy jobs at strip clubs showing off her talent.

So, any doubtful crime occurred seven years ago. The only criminals are Cohen, Avenati, and Daniels. Embezzlement, perjury, extortion, prostitution, and pandering.

The experts say that the DA has no case and that some of the American people will see this case of misjustice and become reluctant Trump supporters.

So much for your diversions. What was *alleged* is in reality a *fact*. There is a check, written to Stormy Daniels and signed for by, what was described by her as the person whose penis looks like Toad from Mario. A lineup states that is donny.

Now, we all should not give two shits where a person gets their rocks off, within ethical boundaries. But there is an issue here I didn't understand when first arose to my attention. A former mayor from my Po'dunk town was kept from a cabinet position when it was discovered he was sending $$$ to a mistress/former mistress. At first I thought what was the problem with that? But I let it be if it was an actual law. And said former mayor never aspired to a higher political ambition. C'est la vie. Now we have donny, who actually got the office, caught with the smoking gun of such. Well, if he never got office, so what. But that isn't true. So, now we have ramifications.

Really, I don't care if they put a warrant out for him or not for such a thing. What is true is that he did it.
