what if they did this to ECCIE and eccie users too? Hope not

I doubt that would happen. AM is geared toward married people who want to cheat. While ECCIE has its share of married guys, a lot of us are single. The only angle hackers would have it to out guys who use hookers. But where AM has people register most likely with real names and credit cards, real names are not used here and credit cards aren't needed for membership. Most Premium Access is earned from reviews so only a fraction of guys using personal credit cards for PA would even be at risk. Maybe some of the ladies who buy ads but don't know about that.
....And if it did happen
only you are responsible for yourself.
Information you voluntarily
give to the world wide web
is no longer yours.
Just like garbage
once you put it out
on the road for the trash guy
to pickup
you have given it away.
Thanks for your replies. I am sure that gives a peace of mind to everybody customers and providers. Yes giving one's info is no good at all.

But what about the many providers that use one of those verification databases to verify johns. And they type in info such as his eccie handle or hobby email then his license plate number they get watching him park.

Then, the database has now tied the handle name to RL info.

The next lady puts the hobby phone number and soon the info on said john is growing.
....But you have a hobby car, so no worries
Yeah .... no worries.
Globespotter I asked a mod the same question. Legit concern. I wanted immediate access to the ROS when I signed up so I used a card. Eccie should take some preventive measures. Maybe deleting Credit card info once ROS is established
Verification databases? I'm learning new stuff
p411 posted this today:

Understandably, everyone is very concerned about their privacy on P411 after hearing the news this morning that the Ashley Madison site has been hacked.

In regards to Preferred411, there are a few points to remember:

- we don't keep anything over and above your client id and email address in our databases when your account is made active. This is for your protection, as well as ours.

- you are in control of everything else that appears on your account and there is absolutely no reason to include any significant real life info on your account.

- we don't do automatic renewals specifically because we don't want to keep any credit card information in our databases.

- we offer anonymous payment options, including money order, cash and bitcoin.

Our interest lies in keeping your information safe, therefore we allocate a signicant amount of resources to protecting what information we do keep. While I cannot say that we could never, ever be hacked.... I can say that we make sure that we have as little sensitive information as possible in our possession.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns

There are other ways to pay.

ECCIE doesn't receive credit card information. All billing goes through a third party - CCBill.

While I'm sure no web site is completely hacker proof, the administrators say "We have our own set of security measures in place to combat this sort of thing."

So, if you're paranoid over Ashley Madison as an ECCIE member then you're paranoid for nothing. Members do not provide personal info to ECCIE so no info is ever retained by ECCIE.
Thank you for addressing these concerns PD.
