So I always like to investigate local eateries when I tour.
I'm a big fan of old timey diner/cafes and hamburger joints.
I also want to try your local yummy Louisiana cuisine.
Any input would be appreciated of not to miss places.
Thank you .

I second herby k's but for the shrimp buster, the burger sucks
Pappa's has a great burger
Superior grill actually has a great burger but it is a Mexican joint
Strawn's is a classic diner, but the pie , not the burger is what makes it good.

Also, I may start an argument here, but the cub is a hole in the wall place that has the best steak in town. Little pricey, but that and herby k's are the two places that I bring out of Towners.

A place nobody really knows about is Uncle henry's barbecue on airline drive north like going to Benton - great smoked burger on a jalepeno cheese bun ( uncle henry burger ) and they have a smoked chicken breast sandwich that melts in your mouth but the place is a hole in the wall.
Herby k's for the crawfish etoufee and catfish sandwich
Contry tavern for the filet mignon and augratin potatoes

Hey thanks for all of the options!
I've never had a shrimp buster before, but the picture looks yummy!

I don't drink alcohol so I don't worry about being pulled over but thanks
for the heads up! I do like hole in the wall places though.

Paven I always have a wonderful time @ Ernest's. Give it a try if you have time or maybe we could go together.

Enjoy!!
Ernest is the best, pricey, but good. Strawns is a good joint too, as well as those listed above.
Oh, and welcome to Shreveport Paven!

I see someone mentioned pie . Strawn's might be getting a visit from me as well!

Thanks for everyone's input!

Shreveport has been treating me very well indeed!
