e-mail was hacked

hey everyone I noticed about 30 min ago my email was hacked (thank god for text message alerts) but I changed my password and everything is fine now. Just wanted to let you know incase you got spammed

Run a malware program to catch any rogue programs that can slow your machine or turn off certain programs.

Agreed, run the freeware version of https://www.malwarebytes.org/ to make sure someone didn't put a keylogger on your computer.

I've also had my credentials lifted and used. Someone intercepted my userne and password from the unsecured hotel wifi network.

I have gotten called to several hotels before Christmas, and had to console into the Cisco equipment since someone locked out the Access Points.
