Question

Just wondering if it’s bad taste to offer a prepaid debit card as payment. Have a couple burning a whole in my pocket. Guess it would require to check balance and everything.
If I knew who the gentleman was such as yourself who is offering the prepaid card I have no problem accepting that. As I'm going out of town to New York for my birthday, prepaid gift cards are an awesome way for me not to have to carry cash on my trip.

I think that's a matter of the provider and you having established a trusting relationship. I don't see that being a comfortable option on a first visit.
