Providers should be classified as healthcare workers!

If there is one thing I miss about Europe is that sex work is legal.

I'm a single guy in my mid 40's. I been widowed for some time now, and don't see the need to get involved with anyone, nor do I have the time. However, I am a man, and I have needs.

After my wife died I was lonely and depressed for a very long time. I was watching TV one day and came across the move Milk Money, with Ed Harris who plays a widowed dad, and Melanie Griffith, a provider. After watching I decided to entertain myself. This was back during the backpage days. Needless to say, my first few attempts were dishearteningly disappointing. Then I met a provider (who is no longer in the business) based out of Bella Vista that helped me forget my troubles for a moment. I came out of that session feeling mentally, physically and sexually released. It was like I can breath again after such a long time.

If my health insurance pays for me to get a regular mental and health wellness check up so that I stay healthy, shouldn't intimate needs and physical human touch count as mental and health wellness checkups? Sex work should be legalized in the U.S. And providers should be classified as essential healthcare workers.

Love to hear peoples thoughts on this.

SW’s are definitely therapeutic, on so many levels. It’s a shame that we are given the stigma by society that we are.

I feel that we serve a very integral role for many people.

I acknowledge that there's a multitude of gray areas in life. Unfortunately there are too many people that have to see everything in completely black and white moral terms and find their moral clarity from some ancient text or from their insular reactionary group instead of from an objective understanding of life and humanity.

I'd say the profession should be decriminalized. The problem about classifying sex work as variation of health worker is that health workers not interested in doing sex work would be vulnerable. People are stupid and tend to devolve to the lowest common denominator if they can get away with it so a lot of nurses would get harassed more than they already do.

There are professional sexual surrogates. Google it you might find one in your area. Perhaps it's a blurry part of the law in some places but these are women who work as some sort of psychological professional who will have sex with their clients.

Providers malpractice insurance rates would be too high.

lol unless the provider is riding me hard and bends/breaks my boner, I can't imagine a malpractice suite...unless she's just a horrible provider. But I get what your saying. I would imagine the costs would be high as far as insurance is concerned if it's forced on them. But I don't think they do that in Europe where it's legal. At least I never asked when I was fornicating in Amsterdam. lol

Excuse but what insurance providers do you accept? Blue Crosss/Blue Sheld? TriCare? Whats my CoPay today?
