Is there a way (short of driving around to scope it out), that I can tell whether a particular area is safe -- particularly at night? For me, as well as for my car.

I'm not exactly new to Dallas; but, I haven't really had a chance to explore all over this very large metroplex. I often ask for a general area where a provider is located, and try to Google a bit about the incall area.
Is there a way (short of driving around to scope it out), that I can tell whether a particular area is safe -- particularly at night? For me, as well as for my car.

Google maps street view works well to at least scope out the neighborhood and look around.
