ATTACHMENT LIMITS?

ANONONE's Avatar
Hello,

I recently tried to attach a few images, with provider permission, to a review thread. Only one pic loaded and then when I tried to load additional images i received this message:

"You are currently using 712.0 KB to store 1 uploaded attachments. Your upload exceeded your current limit by 340.0 KB."

Does this mean I need to reduce each image to a thumbnail or the size of an avatar? I am not sure how helpful that will be to readers. I guess I could utilize a hosting site like photobucket, but they seem to have too many rules about decency and content--not that these were pornographic, and I am not sure I want them to be searchable to all of Google etc by loading them on a public domain hosting site if that makes sense.

Any advice?
Perhaps Geniusman or OFF could give some recommendations as you know they must use some serious bandwidth...

Attachments are one thing. Images are another.

Attachments are limited in size. Images are reasonably unlimited.

Put the picture on another web site, then link it. Use the "insert image" link, or type in the vB tags like this.

There are a number of free picture hosting web sites. Gman uses imagecoast, I believe. Some others allow racy pictures, some don't.

Villagephotos and Fapomatic are also good places for the racier pictures. If you are not sure about the, shall we say, moral content of the image use them.

I do use Photobucket for all of the "G rated" stuff, like my banner that appears below my posts. Images of questionable content will be zapped.
