First Food Packagers, Now Escorts....?

One of the ways food packagers have been making money: instead of raising prices, they reduce the amount of product in the package.

Our Provider of the Day's Showcase offers her time for $200 for 40 minutes and $100 for 20 minutes. Now obviously, this rate is really $300/hr, but do you see this as a re-packaging trend that will catch on in the business here?

I think it will have some success. My first reaction was that the $200 / 40 deal sounded good.

If the provider gets a few clients and is very avid and eager to please during the entire session she should get some good reviews.

The good reviews and the $200 fee will be no doubt be attractive to the hobbyists with restricted budgets.

That said I dont think it will be a business wide trend because the established and popular providers will not partcipate.
With spaghetti sauce that used to come in a 32 ounce container, then 28 and now 24; the jars *look* the same despite their decreased content. This is especially the case when all the spaghetti sauce manufacturers made the exact same change at the exact same time. So one day all the jars on the shelf were the same smaller size, so there was no way to compare. Plus, there was also no choice. You couldn't buy a 32 ounce jar. You could just buy other 28 or 24 ounce jars; or buy 2 jars where before you had bought just one.

On the other hand, ladies offering 40 min stand right next to ladies offering 60 min; so there is a basis for comparison. Even more problematic, the 40 minutes is right there in big letters, unlike the capacity of the jar of spaghetti sauce, so people KNOW they are getting less.

Unless the price drops commensurately with the time, I doubt this approach will work.

This packaging deal sounds much more like a provider that is an ultra clock-watcher. I would be concerned that shes too concerned about sticking to the 40 minute mark to provide the session that I'm looking for. Too business-like for me.

Sounds like value pricing to me Actually, 40 minutes @ $200 maybe appealing to a certain clientele base. I'd venture to say those guys who aren't looking for multiple shots, but do want some level of intimacy may go for the 40 min deal.

I don't like value pricing in the supermarket and I surely don't like it here. I would feel rushed with only 40 minutes and to pay the equivalent of $300 per hour the provider would have to be above and beyond average.
Maybe she's just angling for shorter sessions.

Maybe she has learned valuable lessons from Proctor and Gamble, Nestle, Dreyers, and Colgate-Palmolive. The list can go on and on . . .

It may well fit the needs of some guys and it does offer value for those who are pressed for money. You may not get the same pampering, but you still get your nut.
