Booking a hotel in the daytime hours

What is the easiest way to book a room between the hours of 9am to 4pm? I know I’ve asked this question before. I use Hotels.com to book rooms when I have to but check in is usually 3pm or later. Is it better to be a walk in and ask for a room at any hour of the day? I’d like some feed back as to what works for you?

Mostly it's a logistics game...you can usually get early check-in mon-fri as heavy check OUT days are sat and sun, especially in Shreveport Bossier (casinos, events).

Sometimes, if you're a member of a specific hotel chain rewards, early check-in and late checkouts come as perks.

And it's always ok to call just to inquire about early check-in...some may charge a little extra. I've often used the Early Flight excuse to check-in early

Hope this helps

Thanks, for the feed back. I’ll try some of that. The hotel.com just isn’t hobby friendly for day time get togethers. I’ve got to find something that is more compatible and economical for my situation. I would assume weekdays in slow areas with the less popular hotels they would be willing to do business with day time customers as a call in or walk in. I’ll check it out and find something that works. Thanks Again

I used hotels.com today in Canton. It is Trades Day Weekend. Their 4-5 old hotels are pretty much booked up. I met a friend for lunch at 11am. By noon, we decided we wanted dessert. Got online. Booked a room. Drove over at 12:15pm to check-in. Was very nice to the clerk and she allowed me to have the only King Room available that had just been cleaned. She at first let me check in but said room wasn't ready yet. I politely talked my way into another room that had already been cleaned. Finished with the room by 3pm.

Majic is correct that a lot of it has to do with logistics and timing and sometimes how good your people skills are with the clerk.

I will also add that it is possible to use a hotel at 9am. It requires you first having a partner you are 100% positive will show up. You book the room for the previous night. Go check in sometime the previous evening and get the key. Then show back up the next morning to have your fun to be oit of the room by normal checkout of 11am or even a late checkout of noon.

Depending on what city you are looking to play in . As ETG mentioned knowing your playdate is going to show up you can always book the room the day before. Feel free to PM me for any questions of hotels which may not stick to the 3pm check in time.
I’m a big fan of Priceline, but if you book directly and have the hotel’s loyalty program card, they can tell you if they have a room available early. Many have price matching to hotels.com, so you should be good. They really don’t care, but you can make small talk, about emergency renovations at your house, if they ask.

I usually get a 5am check-in but I'm a member of the nice hotel chains. Putting in view for everyone to see if why hotels are now asking for a $25 early check in fee now (Shreveport-bossier area). But I'm more than happy to share via PM
This discussion was jus bought up on TOB.

Hope this helps

As has been pointed out, Priceline is an exceptional way to start. Most of the hotels have same day service and several will let you check in early as long as there is a room available.

If you want a couple of local (regular, not notels) venues just PM me. I don't want to give LE my secret hideaways.
